Sept 24 Anti-War Events In Toronto

Internal Wars
Moreover, the Canadian Action Party is against the internal wars being conducted against the Canadian people (and such internal wars against citizens in all of the developed and developing world) by THEIR VERY OWN LEADERS and trusted servants! This intolerable, tragic absolute imbalance of power must be redressed. Our trust as citizens has been egregiously betrayed by Canada's very own leaders "Mr. Dithers" and harping Stephen Harper- the latter having shown himself to be a 'Yes America' man more than eager to engage Canadians in the Iraqi war; and who applauds the U.S. destructive, insane, terrorist plans to weaponize space.

There is a good chance he will be our next Prime Minister.
Do we really want this?

A War Against Democracy
These internal civil wars being fought in almost every developed country by government "leaders" AGAINST THEIR VERY OWN PEOPLES are being fought against democracy using Police State tactics, not only with weapons (if necessary), but more often than not in one-sided, cowardly, secretive 'Summits', free trade 'agreements' and the like, involving abstract computer calculations, financial market ideologues, greedy bankers, academic prostitutes, and docile political 'representatives', together creating carefully "spun" press releases to the nothing mainstream media which dutifully and without question report and support these fascist 'fait accompli' activities (fascist because they occur behind closed doors without the due democratic process of public debate and discussion).

The Canadian Action Party stands in solidarity and speaks out against these internal (civil) and external wars perpetrated on the the environment and the peoples of the world and caused by political impotence and corporate greed.
NOW is the Time!

A friend of mine said his friend attended a U2 concert, and apparently Bono asked everyone to take out their cell phones instead of lighters, and got them to dial a friend to protest the war in Iraq and oppose the Bush government.

I guess only in Canada can he do this and not expect to be boycotted by the brain washed Americans who still think its wrong to oppose their government, or wrong to allow anyone else to oppose them.

It is comforting to read about a political party who dares stand up for Canada. The NDP think they are a peoples party, but they haven't one idea how to stop kissing the Liberal ass.
Even though I am not ready to put my trust in any political party, I must say the Canadian Action Party and the Green party seem to be closer to the grassroots people of Canada.

Today on talk radio MLA Brooke Taylor said that "common" people would not likely ever become a leader of a political party... well, well how interesting , I been saying that for years. Here in Nova Scotia for the past 45 years of my 57 years, that position has been held by Lawyers or Doctors..go figure.

    Kevin,

Your friend's friend is a bit off. Bono did indeed have everyone take out their cell phones, but what he did was post Paul Martin's phone number on screen (613-992-4211) and told everyone to call him (or email him) to increase foreign aid to 0.7%. He did this at every Canadian concert.

Their was a small bit against the Bush government with some vague references about Iraq but nothing substantial. Bono's main speeches were regarding Africa, AIDS and foreign aid. I was at only 1 of 4 Toronto concerts, so I cross checked this with several people working with the tour and who have been to each of the concerts in North America (I have a relative who works for U2's promotions company).

This is not to say that Bono may have made the speech elsewhere, but I can pretty much guarantee it did not happen in Canada. Bono's cause is Africa, and he doesn't much diverge from it.

John, I am impressed, I wish I lived near T.O. just to hear Connie and Bill speak, and I too think it is refreshing to have a party and a leader that is not afraid to stand up for Canadians and speak the truth. Even though the truth is not too popular. If I wasn't already a supporter, I'd be saying where do I sign up!

    >>pparently Bono asked everyone to take out their cell phones instead of lighters, and got them to dial a friend to protest the war in Iraq and oppose the Bush government.<<<

    ANON!

Someone told you everyone in audience had Sprint phones! So Damn gullable! And you buy right into it! Not to mention the concert is in the evening which means it was not prime time, and the majority of cell phone users would be using up FREE time which would not even benefit the cell phone company. So Damn gullable! Go play with your conspiracy ideas somewhere else where maybe some small minds will agree with you.

"So dam gullable! And you buy right into it!".

Look out people if you don't like like repetition.

    ANON!

Just wanted you to know I apologize for the way I responded, both times. I usually don't respond with no respect like that. Yah I don't think I gave you respect. I'm sorry.

You can say whatever you want to this, or that. But I probably won't respond. I won't be coming back to this threat. Its dead anyways, not much more being added to the thread other then our rhetoric.

    Take Care.

    Woah Kevin…

Look, at this point when one of you behaves decently I just get confused and a little dizzy… I am going to have to go back to the start page for more abuse before I fall off my chair or have an aneurism. No worries,no need to apologise Kevin, its cool. Just know that we are all not “brainwashed” American monsters. We might just have an honest disagreement.

    Cheers- Doc

This is going to be a fantastic event. I sure hope the press has been notified because they will be very sorry if they miss what Ms Fogal is going to say! It is about time somebody let Canadians in on the secret...I wish I could be there!
