This week, an Army reservist won an honorable discharge from a federal judge in New York after he sued the military for attempting to extend his service through the “stop-loss” program. In a similar case in California, a National Guardsman known only as John Doe had his service extended. A federal judge denied Doe’s request for a preliminary injunction to block his deployment. He will be sent to Iraq in two weeks.
