"..Blair warned that waning public interest or support of the NATO mission in Afghanistan was a clear signal to the Taliban and al-Qaeda that they were winning the conflict of ideas.'

Tony. The support for this mission is not waning, you just prefer to ignore that it has never been waxing! AND NOW IT'S A CONFLICT OF IDEAS? Will the people of the USA, Britain and Canada get rid of these disgusting people that have taken hold of our countries PLEASE!?

And what exactly does he mean when he asks us to "collaborate" with Britain in securing energy supplies? Is BP going to be buying up tar sands now that the Middle East has proven too much for his little merry band of men?
