No Media Attention

I think the Internet is probably the best way at the moment, by contacting everyone you know, send them links to FVC, CAP, ViveLeCanada, and any other webpages that make our point. Another way is to bring the books The Vanishing Country and One Big Party to their attention. Ask them to pass on these links to everyone in their address book that they feel would be interested in researching these materials. I personally am going to purchase several One Big Party books and give them as gifts over the holidays. I'm afraid I don't have the coin to give a bunch of Vanishing books because of it's extra cost, but these books in combination are great to get the juices flowing. (And the blood boiling !) I did see Mel Hurtig on Vicki Gabreau (sp?) soon after he published Vanishing, so there are ways to get TV time. I am disappointed that CPAC didn't schedule Paul Hellyer for an interview when he was in Ottawa recently, and I sent them an email letting them know they missed a good opportunity. Perhaps everyone should contact CPAC to see if we can get them to speed things up. One more thing: if we could get the provincial teams that lost their bid in the recent elections to swing over to the One Big Party idea, then they could place candidates in many ridings across the country, they already have the volunteers in place. We don't have much time to do this before Paul Martin calls the next election, but that would be the quickest way to get visibility. I have personally called Earl Manners, who was running for the NDP in my riding in Ontario, but I am having trouble locating his phone number &/or email address. His email address on his election webpage is no longer working. This is a setback, but I'm working on it.

Thank you. It seems David Orchard has been trying to use every gun at his disposal to stop the merger between the Tories and the Alliance. Folloing is only one small part of that article in the National (American) Post:

\"The Bellemare statement, which has yet to be challenged in court, says it\'s \'\'curious\'\' that Mr. Orchard would question the membership rules for the ratification vote, when he himself has been signing up members of the Marijuana Party, the Green Party and the Canada Action Party, founded by former Liberal cabinet minister Paul Hellyer.\"

This only proves that David Orchard is using all the tools at his disposal to stop the merger.

This is good news. I personally have contacted David Orchard to get his attention for the One Big Party proposal, so now I know it\'s on his radar screen.

Imagine the impact if the Toronto Star or CBC carried an article describing CAP. Do these national newspapers or channels describe or give time to the lesser known parties when there is a federal election?

It seems the Toronto Star will print my letters if I am speaking out against the poor and policies that keep them there, but they never print my letters when I mention NAFTA, CAP, or even this website.

    Reason ? Unknown.
