Burton's resolution notes that 24 Canadians were killed in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and that Canada has lost 17 soldiers in Afghanistan. It says Canada should be commended for its commitment to fighting terrorists in that country, as well as efforts to combat poverty and narcotics. http://www.canada.com/topics/news/world/story.html?id=3487fbf4-0981-4016-a61b-198b5abce90a&k=51160

"It says Canada should be commended for its commitment to fighting terrorists in that country, as well as efforts to combat poverty and narcotics."

The best way to fight "terrorists" there is to dethrone emperor Bush, and that has to wait until house races this year at the earliest.

Poverty always accompanies war, and by the looks of it, Afghanistan will have at least two more years of Canada assisting the US in maintaining the staus quo.

Hopefully Harper will be gone, and that insane decision changed sooner rather than later.

Considering who's probably benefiting yet again from the "War on Drugs", you can bet on that going of for a couple more years as well.

As for the commendation, they can keep it.

It's worth about as much as a pat on the head from the local bully.
