"It's the poorest of the poor in the world, and this includes poor people even in prosperous societies, who are going to be the worst hit," said Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Mr Pachauri said those people were also the least equipped to deal with the effects of such changes……………………………….
The wording of the summary of the report, which will be sent to world leaders in time for a G8 summit of industrialised nations in June, was finally decided after scientists and government officials from more than 100 countries worked through the night.
Several delegations, including the US, Saudi Arabia, China and India, had asked for the final version to reflect less certainty than the draft.

Key findings of the report include:
* could
* could
* could
* increased risk
* expected
"very likely"
Scientists and politicians have welcomed the report.
BOO!
Made ya jump, ha ha ha.
But to be fair no scientist can say that global warming is due to this or that with 100% certainty. The “experiment” covers such a long time period, is physically so large that cause and effect is hard to measure and there is no “control” world to compare against! That is the problem with many of both the “green” crowd and the naysayers, cause and effect is not absolute. The report says:-
Much more evidence has accumulated over the past five years to indicate that changes in many physical and biological systems are linked to anthropogenic warming…………. The Working Group concluded that most of the observed increase in the globally averaged temperature since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations.
I don’t know how any scientist who is being honest and not swayed by political pressures can say much more. That is of course the problem, with those that say it is proven, as with those that say it is not happening .Both are wrong, it is not that black and white. What is scientifically proven is that the planet is indeed warming up, how much of this is due to “natural” causes and how much due to human activity is the big debate, whether it is part of a million year cycle or sun spot activity is immaterial. For my part I cannot see how all our activities cannot have a negative effect and we should therefore endeavor to reduce those activities which appear to be affecting our atmosphere irregardless of whether it is the primary cause or not.
Its time to stop arguing about the science and start taking whatever action we can to reduce the affect WE ARE having.

I am all for people changing their lifestyles to help improve our planet, but the government should not be telling us nor regulating us. If government was sincere they would stop taxing manufacturers of alternative energy sources such as solar panals, and they would stop making people get their permission to install them. Don't increase the taxes or regulations for the oil industry either, just start to level the playing field by taking away restrictions on the other players. If talent and labour are a problem then perhaps if you work for a wind turbine company your company does not have to hold back money for your income taxes. Think of the growth in home generated power we would see. Just my thoughts as I have a cabin I went whole hog on to kit out sustain/enviro friendly, to do the same thing within the city limits of Calgary would cost me three times as much since I have to get so many people's permissions/permits/inspections, blah, blah, blah. It seems government says one thing but then does another, what a surprise.

Take for example "recycling". I've been well aware that most of my garbage is from unnecessary corporate packaging (which suggests that I should change my shopping habits, but that's another matter). I hear all the noise about how "we" should be making sure that all the recyclable junk should be sorted out and deposited into the correct bins, yet the unnecessary corporate packaging fiasco and junk mail (etc) keeps getting worse every year. I also hear that most of the recyclable waste goes straight to the land fills anyway.
I'm all for reducing pollution and living sustainably, however big government run by corporations will only make matters worse for us so as to make things better for them.
We'll all get taxed more, and will somehow be made responsible for dealing with all the junk and pollution thrown at us by the big corporations who tell our government what to do.
I say let it rip! bring on everything they want, and be quick about it!
some where in my daily web wandering i came across a statement by an DEA admisistratoe claiming two high power lights and fifty marijuanna plants gross 225000 dollars a year
Really?
Tell me more!
that kinda a jack would certainly solve my economic situation
actuall I'll settle for
one light and 10 plants at those figuares
I'm gopnna die before the climate change hits
and nobody has been paying attent to how we foul our nest for profit anyway
Whatta I care?
Great attitude Eh?
This "Screw YOU! Jack, I'm alright stuff don't seem to wann leave, Do it?

CO2 isn't even .04% of our atmosphere, and everyone seems to be up in arms.
Well whoopeedeedoo, like what about differences in solar output? Never hear a peep concerning that possibility.
And the average temp of earth current is below it's overall average during it's 5 billion year existence.
But you never hear that.
Besides all the assumptions now concern a "steady temperature state" that never existed.
Nope, just a lot of fuss concerning a minor atmospheric gas that's found in such minute quantities in terms of volume as to be for all intents and purposes non-existent.
Makes great government hay though.
