"We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability," Robertson said. "We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."
Robertson accused Chavez, a left-wing populist with close ties to Cuban President Fidel Castro, of trying to make Venezuela "a launching pad for Communist infiltration and Muslim extremism all over the continent."

Sadly millions of Americans hang on his every word and think of him and his message as God's own gospel. Some even admit to Robertson being their sole source of news information.
True Christians know better.

If I stand for my country today...will my country be here to stand for me tomorrow?
Everyone decries that Islamic leaders do not denounce violence enough, yet we have a Christian leader doing almost the same thing. At least he's targeting a specific individual versus the insurgents targeting random innocent victims... as if that's any consession.
Regarding the generalisation from Robertson to the US, I just toned that down.

By that definition, an insurgent becomes a terrorist when they elect to employ a particular kind of violence. Also by that definition, all insurgents are not necessarily terrorists--in particular if they refrain from committing or advocating acts of terror. Such acts are also well defined, they specifically require the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in pursuit of political goals. Geurillas/resistance attacking a military target are *not* committing an act of terror (which is not to apologize for their acts or justify their cause). Neither are kidnappers and other criminal opportunists who are just out to extort some loot. However, a militia, organization or even state that is deliberately attacking or threatening civilian targets *is* committing an act of terror. Pundits and religeous leaders (on all sides) who call for violence against civilians are dangerously close.

Will this sour his flock or further ingratiate him into the bosom of the emerging American fascist state? <br />
