OTTAWA -- Parliament has narrowly accepted a report that recommends the government kill its controversial program for victims of residential school abuse and send it to the auditor-general for investigation. In five days of research, a 12-member Commons committee found the government has resolved less than 10 per cent of cases that have come before it, despite $600 million in spending on the program.

I wonder when Canadians will realize that these Heritage Canada programs are causing far more damage to Canadian Sovereignty than if they were not there in the first place. The self-serving bureaucracy is killing us and we are letting it happen. This one was more costly than the sponsorship scam combined to Gomery.

34M$ was spent to give 1M$. See <a href="http://ghostchild.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1647">Ghostchild news coverage</a> and <a href="http://sask.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?f...-spending050422">CBC news coverage</a>. <p> It is interesting that Vive did not see that story as worthy of frontpage on Canadian sovereingty and that the Vive participants did not comment either: I suppose not having a First Nations RSS feed on the front page could account for it... Gomery is sure getting all the attention and I sympathise with First Nations folks that find that Quebec coverage has highjacked the Canadian media. Quebec would have more sovereignty than Canada???<p>---<br>"We are all in this together somehow, some more than others somehow"

gaulois, that issue has been settled, and we would appreciate you not bringing it up again, as it has nothing to do with the posted article you are replying to.

Canadians are asking, why do americans hate us? They hate our freedoms: our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to disagree with each other.

You cannot register for that here, you would need to seek out the actual bodies involved. This is a news and discussion site with no ties to the referenced compensation program.

First, Who is voting these comments?

I am starting to see a trend in your responces Jesse.
One that concerns me greatly I must add.
Whether you choose to acknowledge it or not there are connections in the actions some contributors place here.
It would be wise on your part to ask the writers how they see their posts are.
As for the person wishing to register, it might be a cry for help that you stifled.

Cry for help or not, they're crying in the wrong place, and there's nothing that we can do that they can't do on their own (namely, follow the links in the article and/or call their local government representatives).

As for who is voting on comments, it is any user who logs in, meets the very simple criteria(account must be older than a month, etc, explained elsewhere) and chooses to vote. All registered users automatically 'vote' for their own comment just by posting it. The voting table shows that we have had almost 100 distinct users participate in the voting to this point, a number which should grow over time.

I'm not sure what else you're trying to imply. I have no tolerance for distraction tactics nor insults, and I am helpful whenever possible. In this case, the most we could do is recommend they look elsewhere for information on how to join the compensation program.
