50 Canadian Border Officers Run Away

Posted on Saturday, January 28 at 14:43 by Anonymous
The issue came into sharp focus Tuesday afternoon when the murder suspects were spotted about 10 kilometres south of the border. As word of their approach spread, as many as 50 Canadian border officers at three local border crossings exercised their right under the federal Labour Code to leave a dangerous work situation. Canadian border officers are equipped with bullet-proof vests, pepper spray and collapsible steel batons, but unlike their American counterparts, do not carry firearms. http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/story.html?id=9d1b24c3-ca95-4743-9b32-f1966b64e45c&k=8514

It's a union thing but embarrassing. Headlines read that they ran away because unarmed but no explaination as to the actual threat to them. If armed, would they have jumped out in front of the fleeing car and shot at it,or if unarmed would they have just watched them speed by?
