Excellent!! I didn’t believe the topic of this thread would receive approval for submission and now that it has I hope some lively discussion will result.
When you follow the link to the article
you will find the Epilogue: The Blacksmith and a great parable about perception.
One of our contributors as a signature uses the phrase about perception being 2/3 of reality (I hope I have that correct).

Perception, presumption out of perception and the words used to frame our thoughts have more bearing on reality than we may have considered.
I have off-site exchanges with one of Vive’s contributors with regard to this subject and they have brilliantly observed that the constant bombardment of what’s wrong prevents or may prevent valuable dialogue from happening, I see that observation as a valid point.
Wraun made a remark about how refreshing it was to read the manner of a post by Whelen Costen and those occurrences set me off on a search which yielded the the topic of this thread.

Yes Dio, it is so true that we often get caught up in the obvious message and fail to see the use of words to create a reaction in us. We need to think about language and the way we use it, as well as the way it is used against us. There are certain words which create an almost automatic reaction from people, and after they are used or overused they no longer have the same impact. Consider the 'f' word for an example. It still has impact when used by certain people, but for many many others, it is part of regular conversation.

Other words which have been exploited and altered are words which should be used sparingly and with the full intend of their meaning, but again they have been over used and misused so that they no longer hold the same meaning. Examples, love, peace, goodwill, shock and awe, terrorist, enemy, leftie, etc.

Those are some examples of words which have either lost their real intended meaning or have morphed into another meaning.

I know what you mean about the "f" word,
"fool" kinda lost it's impact after Mr.T overused it. ;-)

But that's probably not the "f" you had in mind is it?

On other threads I have introduced how the strong affects of propaganda/advertising have shaped our perceptions and then those perception have become belief systems

It is those peceptions or language patterns we repete (how bad things are)that might cause some readers to shut down and give up.
    Just some thoughts

Ahhh someone was listening? I shouldn't be presumptuous I know but I do believe we had a similar conversation on another thread where I made that very point. If I may regress momentarily, my point was that it is better to not over-state the severity of the political situation because that may in fact drive off the very people we hope to influence. Come to think of it though, in some circumstances, it may be preferable to actually under-state the situation if that's what it takes to convince/brainwash the subject ;-] The discussion on the site you referred to also ties in quite nicely with another more recent thread where we were discussing brainwashing.
I read for quite a while at that site and found it very interesting and even had some mild revelations of things I've understood without knowing but when you strip it down to the bare facts, it is pretty straight forward and should be fairly obvious to the reader. It's just not something the average person is conscious of.
    Good post matey!
