I think it's a great idea. I want a tropical destination where I can actually drink the water, and spend with loonies!<p> I like the Paul Martin crack though :) !<p>---<br>"History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain <br />"The greatest price of not participating in politics is being governed by your inferiors." Poll idea: what do you think of T&C joining Canada?
    1. they shouldn\'t have anything to do with us
    2. full-out political union as a province/territory if that\'s what their government wants
    3. full-out political union as a province/territory if that\'s what the people decide in a referendum/plebicite
    4. make it something like US Virgin Islands, Aruba, etc
add anything else you think they should do

How much money could it really cost us? The island is self-sufficient, and only has 25,000 people on it!!! You could serve that population with 5 or 10 doctors, a few roads and the odd bus. Big deal.

I like the idea of Canadians spending Canadian dollars down south, instead of U.S. dollars or Euros. It wouldn\'t hurt our dollar.

The island has coral reefs and beaches, so I\'m in!

Not the biggest fan of salt water and the sun, but the good old Canadian flag would ease the stinging-eyes a little bit.

I\'m in as soon as they loose the u.s. currency, I\'ll be taking a boat, no flying for me! I wonder if they would trade in snow, cause I know where I can dig some up!

They use the U.S. currency? Should\'ve known. And yes, as fun as taking off is, I hope I can avoid planes in the future. Pricey, dirty aird, bad food, no leg-room, and if the engine fails, spread your wings and pull over to the side of the highway, guys! :(

I\'ve always loved the idea of a cruise, anyway.

Whelan, you may want to reconsider: it\'s a four hour flight.

That would mean a nice cruise, I suppose. Could be a long one. The trouble with that is you would have to travel through the US to catch the ship.

I prefer to fly right over the suckers. No borders for me !!

I forgot to mention that Global has The Final Word at the end of their news program, and tonight this was the exact topic they spoke about.

If Global wants it, maybe it\'s not such a good idea after all. There must be profit in there somewhere.

Maybe they\'ll privatize the whole island chain !!
