This is not the country I was born in. Harper has made me ashamed of it. At least if I was an American, it would be expected to have an abominated government. As it stands, I am a Canadian in a country that has no government. Canadians have no representation, because it has disowned us.

This immoral government does not represent the people of Canada - they represent their own sorry two-faced asses. No difference from them and the savages who are committing these horrendous crimes to humanity.

As long as the Conservatives are in power we will remain a solid voting partner in the "gang of four" fascist nations at the U.N. and continue to show the world that Canada thumbs its nose at democracy and freedom from oppression. Almost everybody knows that the smaller countries in this disgusting group have been in the U.S. pocket for a long time. This vote is a reminder of votes during the Cold War when the U.S.S.R. would have a vote and then several satellites of Russia would also vote the same way.

Major bad news! No one left to replace those who we vote out. We really do not have any representation. Liberals, NDP and whom ever are afraid to leave their closets.

The "Bolivarian Missions" have entailed the launching of massive government anti-poverty initiatives, the construction of thousands of free medical clinics for the poor, the institution of educational campaigns that have reportedly made more than one million adult Venezuelans literate, and the enactment of food and housing subsidies. There have been marked improvements in the infant mortality rate between 1998 and 2005.

The Missions have overseen widespread experimentation in what Chávez supporters term citizen- and worker-managed governance, as well as the granting of thousands of free land titles, reportedly to formerly landless poor and indigenous communities. In contrast, several large landed estates and factories have been, or are in the process of being, expropriated.
See the post below I found in a related topic (also see my reply to it).

Canada Takes Pro-Israel Stance At UN

Authored by: Marcarc on Saturday, November 18 2006 @ 06:34 PM MST

Show comment... Go read the UN votes on Israel. It was during Martin's time as PM was when the votes at the UN began to shift. This isn't partisan politics stuff, just go listen to the nominees for the liberal party if you think it is.

Firstly, sorry about the meds and the flu that caused them.

    >Can Canada NOT produce the likes of a Hugo Chavez<

Probably not. Hugo has the advantage(?) of his country having nothing more to loose. He is however, facing opposition from a Bush/Harper clone running in their election. Venezuelans have witnessed devastation from the American superiority complex. Canadians don't mind being in bed with the Americans because unlike Venezualans, they haven't been thrown out of the bed *yet*. Canadians aren't sheep, just deaf & dumb. Not untill they feel the thump on the floor will they realize they have been pushed out of their bed.

"United States, Israel, Australia, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru and Palau, Ivory Coast, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu" + Canada is likely to be called the "coalition of the willing".

    Willing to ignore justice.

Here we go: British MP George Galloway is calling the Harper Government's policies a joke and says Canada is beginning to be hated around the world
Gee, this one came out of left field - didn't it? Time to thank the 25% of the idiots in this country who voted for these clowns which continue to grossly misrepresent the majority of Canadians' true values.

Will the world (as in not just the EU and the US) condemn Palestine's rocket attacks? No. Has there been any condemnation by the UN of Hamas or Fatah's suicide bombing or rocket campaigns? No. The world jumps all over Israel for every attack, but stands in eerie silence regarding the equally reprehensible attacks by the Palestinians.

To be clear, I support neither side. We should condemn the artillery barrage, but we should also condemn the prior rocket attack in the same motion (which was unacceptable to the majority of those signed on to the motion of condemnation). They are both war mongers and responsible for incalcuable innocent lives lost. They both hate each other so much, they've forgotten why they are fighting to begin with. And many nations use one side or the other as a rallying cry for their cause.

Some questions:
If the Arab states feel so strongly about the plight of the Palestinians, why do the Arab governments do nothing to ease their poverty? The PA has been unable to pay any salaries since Hamas took over and the US and EU withdrew aid - resulting in strikes and riots. Where are the Arab brothers that said they would make up the difference? Or is it that the plight of the Palestinians are a convenient excuse for hatred rather than a real cause?

Louise Arbour was in an Israeli factory that was attacked by Hamas today, seriously injuring an Israeli. Will there be any condemnation of Hamas? This happened right in front of the UN... unprovoked, indiscriminate. Ahh, the sound of silence...
