Who Is The Real Enemy?

Posted on Tuesday, November 16 at 11:15 by Milton

You've heard the stories, if you've chosen to listen. Here's today's roundup: Gunmen in American helicopters shooting a family of five trying to swim across a river while escaping the carnage in Fallujah. Or killing doctors and nurses who were trying to help those wounded by indiscriminate American bombing. Or that story of the American soldier "finishing off" an injured Iraqi man.

These are only the latest of thousands of heartless atrocities wreaked on a ravaged country by an overwhelming military force that can only be described as completely insane. Representing a country that can only be described with the same phrase. The country in question is yours. Can you deal with that?

What America is doing to Iraq is a thousand times worse than Saddam Hussein every dreamed about doing to anyone! What America is doing to Iraq is worse than any dictator, no matter how vilified, has ever done to any other country!

You've heard the pornographic tales about Abu Ghraib prison. How does it sit with you that Americans are regarded as sadistic sex perverts by the rest of the world? Judging by the behavior of American soldiers, that is what we are.

And what do you do about it? How do you react, sitting in your easy chair on Sunday watching football? Turn to your favorite Internet porn site?

Try to ignore all those stories about the election, a trickle turning into a tidal wave of evidence that shows Bush got more votes than there were voters in a number of states? But if your thought process is that evolved, you realize that overturning this recent smelly election would not solve the problem, because the guy who lost is just as much a warmonger as the guy who won.

I'm surprised you omitted the nerve gas, poisoned water supplies, denial of humanitarian aid and general lack of urgency in repairing civilian infrastructure.

Your slipping Milton. I know you have more hate wound up in your little mind. Let it all out. You'll feel better.

OK, Michael, you and Darvin are making a lot of noise lately about how Canadians are anti-American and Darvin even challenged me on the assumption I wanted to see American soldiers get all shot up. Bullshit ! I did not refer to anything like that.

You guys are finding us guilty and you don't give a damn if we are really not what you think we are.

You know the problem: you shouldn't be in Iraq in the first place, you were lied to, over and over again by your grand ayatolla, Dubya.

    So you believe him.

Fine, but quit with the barbs about "oh, the Iraqi insurgents are nice guys and all that."

You are not giving us a chance to make any useful comments, you are finding us guilty first and foremost.

Get a grip, you KNOW better than that.

A little reality check is in order.

I really don't like the fact that my submission was edited.
The word soulless was used and apparently someone thinks that it is a bad word. Oh, you can cause the death of millions, and I mean millions, of people but hey, lets not say you don't have a soul. What is this, catechism class?

Jim I wouldn't let these guys bother you. Let them spout, we know who is right here and who is wrong. Just because we criticize the US we are not anti American. We critisize our own Government and that sure as hell does not make us anti Canadian. Just because we are against war and occupation does not somehow make us terrorist symphathizers. Darvin and Michael need to give their heads a good shake.

    However KWL,

There are so few *real* terrorists that I think you're
allowing these empty headed Bush supporters to push you
into suggesting that all Iraqis are terrorists. From what
I've read of your posts I don't think that is what you
    believe?

re: "Who is the real enemy?"

The real enemy is Iran and Islam, 90% of all the conflicts of the past decade have involved Muslims killing their neighbours or each other - they have demonstrated quite clearly that they are a threat to peaceful co-existence wherever they are. Fortunately for the West, Islamic countries are usually weak and backwards - just like their religion - so they don't pose too much of a threat, that is why they want nuclear weapons - just like a weak street thug who gets a gun.

Care to show some documentation for your assertions? Or is this just another propaganda spam?

4Canada, No I don't think there are any real terrorists in Iraq, in fact I don't even really believe there is such a thing as AlQueda. It's all just a fabrication the US needs to justify their dirty wars. The so called terrorists in Iraq are people defending their country.

Perhaps you should read newspapers, listen to the radio, watch the TV news, surf information on the internet, talk to different people or go travel around the Islamic countries. It's all out there and pretty obvious to open-minded people.

Islam is the new Communism because the US always has to have an enemy to keep its' people afraid. Anon. youve been conned.

    Jim,

I don't believe I ever said Canadians were anti-American. Otherwise I would be saying that I am anti-American, which quite clearly I am not. I did say that the majority of posts to Vive were anti-American. If you or anyone else took offense from that, I sincerely appologize, but I think some here would wear that as a badge of honour.

And I don't think I am finding you guilty of anything, I'm trying to understand your arguements. Some of them are quite informed and sometimes I even believe them to be correct - it even pained me on one occassion to actually agree with Milton (I'm sure he was none too pleased about this either). I do find most of the posts here more emotional than factual, however - so please make your useful comments that I am somehow preventing and I will try to follow suit.
