MP's Angry About Dropping Pay Hike

I`ve already been to my MP`s office, and told his assistant who 'works' there that the MP`s weren`t deserving of a hike, and that they weren`t even worth half of what they already make if all they do is sell Canada out to the corporations and the USA! This came after I gave them some reading material from Vive, concerning how they are actively destroying public health care. Needless to say, when i said that about the pay out loud, there were about 4 other people in the office, waiting for some kind of assistance, and they turned around and looked at me as if I killed a cat in front of a 2 year old. It was quite funny, actually. But these government people need to hear it!! I e-mailed Bill Graham last night, telling him what i think about what he said about kissing the USA`s ass, and the missile defense thing. I also e-mailed Jack Layton, telling him to be brave and mention in parliament that the TRUE enemy of public health care in Canada is NAFTA, because, every politician I talk to, or write to, just doesn`t want to talk about NAFTA, including Jack himself. (I`ve e-mailed him before about this.) I don`t know, i believe that if we all hammered them with such letters, it might make a difference. SO HAMMER `EM!!

I will bet that they WILL find a way to get that raise. I remember some issue long time back about it being against the rules (or the law) NOT to take the pay hike. Then they left it up to individual members to donate the raise to charity (if they so chose).

M,y heart bleeds for the poor destitute MPs.

On the other hand, if I had a better idea of what productive activities most undertake during their days, I might feel more generous.

Given current labour circumstances in the federal public sector, it's hard to believe any MP is actually dopey enough to express feelings of being hard done by in this regard.

However, it's a good example of the sense of 'entitlement' that some MPs seem to acquire after a cetain period of 'service', a sense that has probably contributed to some of the troubles encountered in recent times by a few current and ex-MPs.

I agree that it's unlikely the proposed raise will remain shelved.

I believe the Members of Parliment do not deserve a raise.
Most of them already steal from Canadian taxpayers for their own personal indulgences. I also hope the E-mail to Jack Layton will get to him and then he'll know that there are many Canadians who are fighting to keep Canada sovereign.
