$141,000, and they think they deserve a 10% wage increase !!! The government is offering some 2% to public workers, but some MP's are ANGRY that Paul Martin dropped the pay hike to all federal MP's. Just how DO you spell GREED, anyway ?
If those that are angry because they didn't get this 10% hike, perhaps they should take a "hike" and get a real job instead of expecting more and more gravy from the taxpayers.
Why did they want to become politicians, just for the money ?? This is disgusting. Their "raise" would be more than I bring in per year. Email all MP's and give 'em 'ell, 'arry !!
I already have.

M,y heart bleeds for the poor destitute MPs.
On the other hand, if I had a better idea of what productive activities most undertake during their days, I might feel more generous.
Given current labour circumstances in the federal public sector, it's hard to believe any MP is actually dopey enough to express feelings of being hard done by in this regard.
However, it's a good example of the sense of 'entitlement' that some MPs seem to acquire after a cetain period of 'service', a sense that has probably contributed to some of the troubles encountered in recent times by a few current and ex-MPs.
I agree that it's unlikely the proposed raise will remain shelved.

"When we are in the middle of the paradigm, it is hard to imagine any other paradigm" (Adam Smith).
Most of them already steal from Canadian taxpayers for their own personal indulgences. I also hope the E-mail to Jack Layton will get to him and then he'll know that there are many Canadians who are fighting to keep Canada sovereign.
