Britain's Top General Calls For Blair To Be Impeached Over Iraq War

Posted on Thursday, January 12 at 10:21 by BC Mary
Rose reiterated his call for action against Blair on BBC radio’s “Today” programme and in the Guardian newspaper. Asked on “Today” whether his demand for Blair’s impeachment was merely a rhetorical flourish or whether he genuinely believed the prime minister should be “hauled” before the House of Lords on charges of “high crimes and misdemeanours,” Rose insisted that Blair should be held accountable. “Certainly from a soldier’s perspective there can’t be any more serious decision taken by a prime minister than declaring war. And then to go to war on what turns out to be false grounds is something that no one should be allowed to walk away from.” Rose was questioned as to whether he believed Blair’s actions in the run-up to the war were a case of getting the politics “wrong” or acting illegally. Whilst responding somewhat vaguely that they were “somewhere between the two,” the retired general’s answer emphasized the issue of illegality. http://www.wsws.org.articles/2006/jan2006/rose-j11.shtml

He's retired, what do his opinions matter?

Because he's still familiar with British law. As he states, Britan went to war, based on a false premise, and the PM is ultimately responsible.

But, PM Blair didn't know the information was false when he . . . oops. Only Anons think they get away with that. My Bad. guess I wanted to see what the attraction of having a conversation with the other voice in my head was like.

a'ight...mo' fuk' be loco en la cabeza, yo.

TRANSLATION: alright, no problem. the mother fuker is crazy in the head, man.

yo is singular; y'all is plural.

and to get back to the issue at hand, that general being a lawyer with expertise in that particular facet of english law is about as likely as the archbishop of montreal being sexually attracted to girls rather than boys. very unlikely in otherwords.

Top soldier should be listened to, IMHO, when it comes to a
question of getting the facts straight when a Prime Minister sends
his troops into live action. Gen. Rose's credentials are given in the
article above. Me, I don't blame him for being mad as hell.

It's a bit of a shock to see people actually quibbling about this.
Sheesh. Is a general a top soldier? Yes he is. So his words mean
more than Anonymous' words. Or mine. I mean, just imagine
getting blasted and vapourized for no logical reason, and then
having Tony & George merely shrug and say "Oops!" If that.

"Getting the wrong information" seems to be the current excuse these days as if that is justification. What "wrong" information is going to be the pliable excuse for attacks on foreign countries in the future. A lot seems to be at stake in the definition of "information". Lies and conspiracies should replace the webster definitions.
