anada is the primary source of the majority of strategic resources that America imports to sustain its position as the number one economy on earth. Yet Canadian politicians have somehow been convinced to “sell” the rights to about 80% of Canada’s strategic resources to Americans. Thus Americans own approximately 80% of Canada’s strategic and energy resources IN THE GROUND. And with Free Trade, if you don’t own it, you can’t sell it, and if you have FREE TRADE, you cannot tax it as it leaves the country. So for Canada’s natural wealth, Canadians only get the wages of digging them out of the ground and handing them over to American (and I don't mean the majority of the American people who are fine, progressive, rational and fun people, I mean the 1% of Americans who own over 50% of the US economy and US multinationals yet pay little or no taxes owners). How is Canada, then, to manage Canadian resources to the long-term benefit of Canada and the World?
-Canada is capable of feeding much of the world yet we do not, and Canadian farmers are among the most indebted people in Canada with beef and grain farmers are going bankrupt in droves—even as American interests and politicians such as Ralph Klein and portions of the corporate media agitate to scuttle the old saviour of Canadian grain farmer: The Canadian Wheat Board. The Mad Cow crisis is being exploited by American interests to achieve enormous profits for monopolistic American multi-nationals such as Cargill, and to punish Canada for not participating in the Iraq war—achieved over the ‘dead bodies’ of Canadian farmers.
