<i>Ignoring a Red Cross report that said that up to 90 per cent of the prisoners held at Abu Ghraib prison had been rounded up by mistake, ...</i><p> <i>"You know they're not there for traffic violations," he [Senator James Inhofe] told a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee.</i><p> No, he's right. They weren't. They were there because of random chance.<p> <i>"I am also outraged that we have so many humanitarian do-gooders right now crawling all over these prisons looking for human-rights violations while our troops, our heroes, are fighting and dying."</i><p> I'd like to remind the Senator from Redneckistan of exactly what those troops are fighting and dying for. . . oh, sorry. It must be for the oil. Continue to invade countries and lock up innocent people, then treat them as you would your own prison population. Sorry, my mistake.<p> <p>---<br>"History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain <br />

Inhofe has been a vicious idiot for a long time. That hasn't changed, apparently.

Had Rumsfeld taken FULL responsibility he would have left his position, put on an orange jump suit and locked himself up for the rest of his miserable life. It's easy to accept responsibility the way he does, ask Gordon Campbell.

And when Cheney and Bush were gushing about how pleased and satisfied with Rumsfeld, (Cheney:"Don Rumsfeld is the best secretary of defence the United States has ever had. People ought to get off his case and let him do his job.") they were it just cements that they are the worst President and Vice President the United States has ever had. If that's the best Rumsfeld can do you can see why they're all in the mess they're in. Pitiful.

I do believe that this Senator is telling it like it is; the thing that makes them so embarassed and peeved is that the pictures were revealed, not that they participate in these horrors; and that is the most sickening of all!

Its just another step towards making torture and abuse legitimate for the West over the Middle East. Notice how the western media calls the actions in the prison 'abuse' and never torture.
