I saw Orchard on CBC with Don Newman. He looked pretty frazzled.

I would think he would, he just got the most public kick in the teeth anyone could possibly have to endure, and everyone wants to know \'what now David\'?

Reprinted from the National Post:<p> <i>(Cue haunting flute melody and loon soundtrack.)<p> The Wild-Eyed Prairie Orchard has become a common pest in many parts of Canada's political hinterland. It nests primarily in backwaters, and is easily distinguished by the warning shriek it emits when nearby Canadian birds attempt to mate with an American eagle, as well as by the cultish devotion of its gaggle.<p> Recently, birders report, the Orchard has begun agitatedly flapping its left wing whenever other denizens of its Tory swamp nest with Canadian Alliance magpies. A territorial bird, it has even been known to peck aggressively at the Nova Scotia MacKay.<p> Despite a recent upsurge in the number of Prairie Orchards tagged and banded by Tory wardens, political biologists are confident this ungainly bird will rapidly become extinct if Canadians ignore its hysterical call -- no-MER-ger, no-MER-ger.<p></i> While I agree with him that NAFTA needs to be looked at, and the new free trade agreement needs to be scrapped while it's still young, he needs to realize that the right will die unless they merge. The only one who would win would be the Liberals, and Canada loses.<p> <p>---<br>"History does nor repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain

Yes it would appear that David needs a reality check, the party he is fighting for is no longer and probably hasn\'t been for many years. Certainly not when Mulroney sold us out on the Free Trade deal originally. Orchard is attempting to revive a dead organism, rebirth isn\'t going to happen as few PC\'s or Alliance are really concerned about Canada. It\'s all about being in power, the thirst for power and what it entails for them, not for us. They really aren\'t any different then the Liberals, just not as big yet. David needs to look at a new party as I believe do the rest of us.

Dr. Caleb: \"You have to realize that the right will die without the merger.\"

.....What?! The right is more and more being occupied by the Liberals. You say that everyone loses if the merger diesn\'t ahppen, but it\'s quite possible that it will marginalize the right even more. Any progressive PCs will be eclipsed, and the \"Conservative Party\" will become the Republican Party north.

Remember, Dr. Caleb: traditionally, PC supporters vote LIBERAL if they don\'t vote PC, not the Reform/Alliance..... It is possible that the desire for change could change this, but either way, Canada loses. A united Conservative Party would do even more harm to Canada than the Liberals, and will hurt us greatly in opposition, if the NDP doesn\'t return to its past values, and get moving.

Orchard should think about helping to \"Unite the Rest\" as Hellyer would say. Transparency and integrity are not characteristics of Canadian politics the past couple of decades it seems.

Paul Martin, Bilderberg \'96, already \"United the Right\", and back-seat driver \'insurance\' has been supplied by Calgary and Manning \'98, and Harper \'03, and all the little Canadian \'Karl Roves\' trained by the \'U.S. tax-deductible\' Fraser Institute, U.S. Leadership Institute that trains \'conservatives\' like Reform/Alliance MP Rob Anders et al. Obviously David Frum, now of the American Enterprise Institute, keep stirring the \"Unite the Right\" pot....... Unfortunately, all seem to have access to deep pockets and media to go with it - ain\'t Democracy grand!

    Wake up Canada!
