MacKay Talks Tough On Iran. Joining Rice, He Warns Of Sanctions

"It may not be the preferred option, but there aren't a lot of other options right now," MacKay said. He said he didn't want the world to take "any drastic steps" that would destabilize a volatile situation in Iran, but he said Tehran must realize there will be consequences if it continues to ignore the will of the world. "I believe that Canada is in the position that we do support the international need to respond with one voice, the need to demonstrate to Iran that we very clearly want them to comply upon pain of sanctions," he said. http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1144965014138&call_pageid=970599109774&col=Columnist1053514084392

With Peter Mackay as our Minister of Foreign Affairs the expression "dumber than a board" gains new impetus. That he is a cabinet minister is testimony to just how desparate Harper was for cabinet quality lumber. When MacKay "talks tough" the only question is who is telling him what to say.

How dare the Iranians carry out activities that they are completely entitled to do under the non-proliferation pact?

We have the word of G.W. Bush that Iran is a threat and that they could launch a nuclear attack within 16 days, isn't that enough proof to justify the "taking out" of Iran? Of course, we must ignore the bald faces lies the very same people told us in order to justify attacking Iran - its different this time, honest!

We have an old saying in Texas: Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice and uh.. ummm. you won't fool me again...
