How stupid can things get? How far does it have to go before people start asking simple questions about what they are being made to do in the name of security?
If these liquids are potentially explosive what the hell is the good in pouring them all into large bins inside overcrowded airports and mixing them all together?
The Asheville Citizen Times interviewed a mother who was forced to pour away her baby's milk:
"I have mixed feelings about all this," Leoni said as she waited to board a flight for Miami at Asheville Regional Airport. "On the one side, Im fine with the safety measures and the effects, but on the other hand, I had to pour out my babys milk this morning. They said I couldn't take it on board."

I have to wonder, do most Canadians buy into this nonsense? If they do, then we're doomed. I never imagined that fake terror could be taken to such absurd heights.
Is it just the US coalition of the fascists doing this 'liquid terror' nonsense, or are all countries getting into it? Editor Writes:

What exactly does it take for you guys to realize that there are some people out there that actually want to blow us up? What exactly constitutes proof in your minds?
I'm truly glad that even the left wing nut Liberals make more sense on this issue than you lot.
The bombing happened just prior to the election, and was an obvious ploy to influence the results. The people of Spain did not do what they were expected to do - turn to the existing government for more protection, and to stay in Iraq out of outrage and/or fear. Instead, they kicked out the ruling government, and the new government quickly pulled Spanish troops out of Iraq. The issue as to who did the bombing in Spain has yet to be resolved.
In my view, the latest rounds of "terror" do not involve actual bombings because of the Spanish backlash. The problem the true terrorists now have, is that when they detonate bombs and kill innocent people at home (as opposed to oversees), the government tends to get blamed - either for its bad foreign policy which is seen as a somewhat justifiable reason for the attack, or because the people suspect the government is making use of the attack to further its own agenda.
The new and improved form of terror involves staged arrests, which are designed to avoid the backlash problem. When there are arrests (real or imagined), the people do not get outraged, and the government gets to boast about their victory and tells the people "see we're actually protecting you for real - keep accepting what we do, and you'll keep seeing success."
If we keep on falling for this nonsense, the results will be more war and less freedom for everyone.
So far there have been plenty of arrests but no convictions, and the terrorist plots look like complete nonsense to me, e.g., A terrorist group headed by a CSIS spy, who among other things, plotted to storm Parliament and behead Harper.

Bill Christison, a CIA analyst for 28 and a half years, has emerged after 5 years of downplaying 9/11 skepticism, as a proponent for new 9/11 investigations. He joins Mel Goodman, David MacMichaels and Ray McGovern as a critic of the 9/11 Commission, but goes further, endorsing some 9/11 theories, and giving them priorities;<br />

Stop Belittling the Theories About September 11<br />

... But on July 29 and 30, and then again on August 1, something else happened that increasing numbers of people believe is of equal importance. On these dates C-SPAN rebroadcast a panel discussion, held originally in late June... to discuss what really happened on September 11, 2001... The meeting was attended by 1,200 people interested in hearing something other than the official story of 9/11. The TV audience was evidently large enough to spur C-SPAN to broadcast the panel discussion five separate times in four days...<br />
<br />
...Let’s address the real issues here. Why is it important that we not let the so-called conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 be drowned out? After spending the better part of the last five years treating these theories with utmost skepticism, I have devoted serious time to actually studying them in recent months, and have also carefully watched several videos that are available on the subject. I have come to believe that significant parts of the 9/11 theories are true, and that therefore significant parts of the “official story” put out by the U.S. government and the 9/11 Commission are false. I now think there is persuasive evidence that the events of September did not unfold as the Bush administration and the 9/11 Commission would have us believe...<br />

1) Please tell me then how 2 jet airliners out of Boston managed to find their way off course in one of the busiest air traffic corridors in the world WITHOUT a single USAF interceptor going in to investigate.
Does Osama have that much pull?
2) Not every "terrorist action" is committed by our own governments. Only a complete idiot would believe that.
However. the really big ones that get people scurrying like ants on a kicked over anthill usually are.
3) speaking of the "greater conspiracy", it predates 911 by over 40 years and is directly linked to the same people who assasinated JFK.
If you think it's a new thing, you're sadly mistaken.
And just because it's a "conspiracy theory" doesn't by ANY means indicate that it is not true.
Of course, if you wish to be an accomplice in the actions of these vile excuses for human beings, keep doing nothing.
They love it when their sheep are submissive.

I gotta agree here, Mike. On CNN tonight they were talking about the British police still combing the residence of one of the latest suspects, and were 'confident' they would find evidence of 'terrorism'. Many were expected to be released without charge.
Strange that this latest threat came on the heels of a heavy campaign in the middle east. "Look! Over there! Shiny!!"

Dr.Caleb's right about the diversion. Just when the opposition to Israel/US was reaching critical mass worldwide and people were beginning to see the move on Lebanon as a US path into Iran, the "one voice" of the MSM was hijacked and we experienced another televised "terror story" tsunami. The thing about the liquids was a effective in that it generated maximum focus due to the sheer ricdiculousness of it. Sure hits us where we live, in the convenience department of the daily grind. Maximum inconvenience + maximum unreasonableness of security measures = maximum buzz. A war is being waged against us. The hill to be taken is the minds of the masses, the victory is total control. I wonder if it is a sign of hope that we can still see the string pulls?
