“The Government of Canada is committed to exploring opportunities for all Canadians,” said Minister MacKay. “Through ACOA’s investment, metal fabricators in Nova Scotia metal fabrication will have the opportunity to expand their operations.” “Partner East 2007 is a return mission into Canada’s most lucrative market,” said Stephen Lund, President and CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc. “Alberta’s booming economy and Nova Scotia’s talented and skilled workforce together present tremendous opportunity for businesses in both provinces.” The Alberta mission begins on December 3, 2007 with an exhibition and trade show for participating Nova Scotia firms to showcase their capabilities and share resources, skills and expertise. The following day will see a number of one-on-one meetings and other networking activities involving the Nova Scotia companies and potential customers. A similar session was held in Alberta last year. As a result of that mission and some follow-up activity, a number of companies entered into partnership agreements with western firms. Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) is Nova Scotia’s private sector led business development agency. NSBI is the investment attraction arm of the province and helps businesses in Nova Scotia meet growth potential through advisory services, trade development, financing and venture capital. The Pictou Regional Development Commission is a community- led organization dedicated to promoting economic development opportunities in the Pictou County area.
