This is the Fight of Our Lives

"The middle class and working poor are told that what's happening to them is the consequence of Adam Smith's 'Invisible Hand.' This is a lie. What's happening to them is the direct consequence of corporate activism, intellectual propaganda, the rise of a religious orthodoxy that in its hunger for government subsidies has made an idol of power, and a string of political decisions favoring the powerful and the privileged who bought the political system right out from under us."

If so many people are aware this is happening, why is it still going on ?

I've always wondered if the corporations have any way of forcing their employees to vote a certain way or lose their jobs.

In these days of more intricate software, I'm not sure it isn't happening. When you realize that the average Canadian is earning some $50K - $70K, why would they want to vote for the right wing.

It's not in their best interests. The only ones that benefited from Bush's tax cuts were the upper middle class to the extremely wealthy, plus corporations.

(That means that there are a hell of a lot of people out there that earn less than the average.) With these numbers, we can win any election.

    Every time !!

    It really is that easy.

Count the number of people that earn more than $70K and then count the number of people that earn less than $70K and then see where we are.

Someone has to change the law regarding what corpn's are allowed to get away with.

This can't continue. We all seem to know that, but we have to make it happen.

We will someday. Hopefully, not too late.

I thought the average Canadian salary was 32,000.

That is a profound article, very sad and oh too true; Canada is falling right in line with the corporate thinking and it has been in the workings for a long time. It makes me sick when I think of Mulroney smiling all the while selling us out, then quickly exiting the country and no one stood up...now he's back to finish us off...he and Harper what a team...Why couldn't anyone stand up to him, then or now? Is it because so many are also in the same bedchamber or is it fear, or just plain ignorance?

People we have to wake up, the percieved rich in this country don't have a clue, there are not mass numbers of people rich enough to deal with what is coming. That money is all tied up in a few people's hands, so we better all start to think of ourselves as the working poor...or vote for NDP and pray that many others will too.

Ultimately, it`s up to us to change things. Perhaps a revolution is in order? I think so, because all of these puppets are simply not listening to us!!! The body of freedom and democracy has been hi-jacked by wealthy corporate fascism, but WE are the heart and soul of freedom and democracy!! Sadly, its become clear that we must be prepared to do more than just talk, if we`re to defend freedom, democracy, and our country!!!

I'm telling you, if we want to change this we MUST change to Pro Rep or Independent MPs as our way of government making. NO Corporate influencing of MPs of voters of sitting government. What we have right now is benefiting only the Corporations and this is why they will try very very hard to stop us. It has taken them years to worm their way into our govenment system the way it is and they do not want to have to revamp their take over.
