Computer Revamp Costs Soar, Program Goes Up 25% And Lags Far Behind Schedule

Posted on Saturday, April 22 at 12:54 by 4Canada
Designed to integrate 12 disparate immigration and citizenship information computer programs while streamlining cumbersome and controversial deportation process, the system is suffering from setbacks similar to those that drove the gun registry to almost $2 billion. Along with indecision and delays, the costs for both programs were lifted into the fiscal stratosphere by unforeseen computer complexities.

Following the twists and turns of a project heading off the rails is as instructive as it is familiar.

I would be more concerned about nutcase Stockwell Day's national ID scheme that will come anytime soon. He's already admitted it could cost up to $2 billion. If early estimates are $2 billion the final cost will be... five times higher, ten times higher?

If there was ever a time for Canadians to become pushy - now is the time - for time is running out on this nation called Canada.

Well, based on the arithmetic that was provided for the cost of the gun registry, how about ONE THOUSAND TIMES (1000x) more expensive!

    2,000,000 (original estimate) x 1,000 = 2,000,000,000 (final estimate).

I trust that P.M. Harper keeps the likes of the gun control perpetrators away from the cookie jar.
