17 year olds got 6 months house arrest for beating another 17 year old kid to death with a bat in Edmonton.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Well, it does, but never in a good way.

    This is in Victoria?

Gordon Campbell was arrested in Hawaii for drunk driving and the electorate of
BC voted him in for a second term? I wonder if this woman is related to him?
    Just asking?

It's almost getting to that point, isn't it?

A group of teens and young adults kidnapped a 13 year old girl and very brutally murdered her on a golf course very near where I live. I played that course the day before her murder. Our justice system will give them a stern finger wagging, or make their wrists red or some other lame punishment in the name of reforming them into productive memebers of society.

But people that choose to hunt other people have no hope of reform. No penalty our society has can balance the scale of how she died. But Arthur Ellis or John Ellis* inviting them to the gibbet to perform the rope dance would send a message to others considering this brutal act.

    * If you don't get the reference, Arthur and John Ellis were the names used by the last two official hangmen in Canada.

    Quite the contrary!
it is far beyound that point!
when I use the word "vigilante'" I have full knowledge of the word

It means to be vigalent ever watchfull for the existance of anti social behaviours, whether from elected official and state employees or civilians

It is our laziness and perhaps even stupidity that will allow criminal acts to be trated as a cash cow for the unscruplious.

The craziest part is when 17 year old jerks who rob and kill are considered "children" and their names can not be published, or be sentenced for the crimes they commit.

A 17 year old is not a "child" and hasn't been since history began.

In these days young people stop being children at 10.

I would say a coalition of the elite, from big business to the retired wealthy, voted him in.

As well as he successfully split the left. We can't decide if we want the NDP back, or want to give the Green Party a run for their money.

If you want yer big R right wing government, you only have the Liberals in BC to pick.
