Letter To PM -Objecting To Rocket Launch At NFLD

Posted on Saturday, April 30 at 00:12 by whelan costen
Mr. Martin, I expected more from you and your government and I urge you and your colleagues to focus on what is best for this entire country, and let Mr. Gomery worry about the corruption. If an election is called then deal with it, but right now it would reassure the Canadian people, if we could believe that somebody is looking after this country's best interest, after all that is what you are paid to do. I would like an explanation as to why, you would ever allow this type of exercise to take place and what you are going to do to stop this and any further risk to the Canadian public, in the future. We are not guinea pigs, to be used for experiments, we are not just the electorate to be used at the whims of government elections, we are human beings,please treat us as such. I look forward to your response. yours truly Catherine Whelan Costen cc: Jack Layton, NDP S.Harper, Cons Connie Fogal, CAP vivelecanada.ca

    Was this a recent article I missed? Last I knew the launch was delayed and then someone from Raytheon was in Labrador looking for a place that the US could use to set up a launching pad there?

    Very recent, Friday night late news. I understand that anything they don't want us to read is released on Friday, as it is the least read or watched news.

    Who would have thought I could be made to feel bad for Mr. Dithers? Do you use a Crayon and construction paper to compose these hysterics? Do you ever get a reply?

    As Stated:
    >>Most satellites shot off from Florida or the Guiana Space Centre are going to have a trajectory that carries them up the east coast, especially polar satellites. Your MSat followed a similar path.

    Considering that this has been going on since 1950, and considering you have done the same exact thing, could it be that you are just looking for something else to bitch about?<<

    I believe that to be the case. As far as I am aware, nothing was shot "at", or fired "toward" NF, but rather up towards the outer atmosphere (space) to place a communications satellite. No, hold on. Wait a moment. Unless...it was a returning flight of the Canadian Air Force carrying our most recently developed biological weapon as noted from this article that was also in the Friday CBC news (they DO seem to always hide these things in the Friday news, don't they)...<br />

    Do you use a Crayon and construction paper to compose these hysterics? Thanks anon for that well thought out question.

    Hysterical responses like the attack on Iraq in retaliation for Saudi bombers attacking the U.S., or did you mean, like your government imposing the Patriot Act on all citizens, because they allowed some foreigners to be trained at flight schools that didn't require landing a plane? If the headline read, Canada launches Rocket over Washington, or Florida or Disneyland, or Texas with the possibility of debris fall-out, what do you think the response would be? Hysterics??

    Even my own government's now infamous sponsorship scandal, could be seen as a hysterical reaction to a perceived threat, or maybe just a way to make some money for some friends; however my response as a Canadian citizen, is exactly as it should be. He works for me, and so does the entire government, therefore they are accountable to me. I said no and so did my government on my behalf, to the BMD and therefore, as with other issues, NO means NO. I guess hysterics is all relative, if you are the victim you see things one way, if you are the agressor, you may say, 'well what's the problem'.

    >>Hysterical responses like the attack on Iraq in retaliation for Saudi bombers attacking the U.S....<<<br />
    <br />
    Always deflecting...That of course has nothing to do with this:<br />
    ""Most satellites shot off from Florida or the Guiana Space Centre are going to have a trajectory that carries them up the east coast, especially polar satellites. Your MSat followed a similar path.<br />
    <br />
    Considering that this has been going on since 1950, and considering you have done the same exact thing, could it be that you are just looking for something else to bitch about?""<br />
    <br />
    But of course the subject could be "bluebirds" and you would chime in about Iraq. <br />
    <br />
    >>If the headline read, Canada launches Rocket over Washington, or Florida or Disneyland,<<<br />
    <br />
    Go here and realize that almost everything that has been launched from Cape Canaveral or Kourou followed a similar trajectory<br />
    <br />
    <a href="http://spaceistheplace.ca/hist.html">http://spaceistheplace.ca/hist.html</a><br />
    <br />
    If it went out of Vandenberg like these did:<br />
    <br />
    ""November 4, 1995 - RADARSAT 1 was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base. Radarsat is Canada's first Earth resources satellite and uses an advanced radar imaging system..""<br />
    <br />
    ""August 12, 2003 - SCISAT, a Canadian-built satellite designed to probe the changes that take place in the ozone layer and other parts of the Earth's upper atmosphere, was launched by a Pegasus booster which was dropped from an aircraft offshore from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.""<br />
    <br />
    Its trajectory probably took it over the continental USA. You Bastards!<br />
    <br />
    >> with the possibility of debris fall-out, what do you think the response would be? Hysterics??<<<br />
    <br />
    If you can find US hysterics over any of the above examples or the examples on the link of Canadas encroaching on our “stratospheric sovereignty” I will eat my hat. It is quite simply a non story. It is being used, again, to demagogue and play the anti American card, in this case, by seal clubbing Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams. <br />
    <br />
    He complained, the USA listened:<br />
    <br />
    <a href="http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Space/2005/04/29/1019037-cp.html">http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Space/2005/04/29/1019037-cp.html</a> <br />
    <br />
    >>however my response as a Canadian citizen, is exactly as it should be. <<,<br />
    <br />
    Yeah, "ready, fire, aim!" To Arms! To Arms! The Bastards have us under rocket attack! The sky is falling!<br />
    <br />
    >>if you are the victim you see things one way,<<<<br />
    <br />
    Always the victim, how is cultivating victim hood working for you? Not too well I submit. <br />
    Again, the cold hard facts fly in the face of your persecution complex. <br />
    <br />
    BTW, it launched, its gone, this latest hissy fit proved to be unnecessary, like the many others before it.<br />

    It has something to do with BMD.Which we and our government said not to,but are in anyway.

    Regular scheduled airplanes are being sent away from US airspace if anyone with a name that's on some "terrorist" suspect list has been boarded in another country. No hysterics there.

    This particular satellite is the start of BMD and we do not agree with that.

    Do you suppose this launch was so public because Canada no longer trust the US? They so easily go balistic over things that do not fit with their beliefs that we have to be on our guard!

    We didn't join in Iraq, some of us don't like missile defence, some of us want all people in Canada to have equal rights and marry whomever they wish. Some of us would like to legalize drugs. Some of do use crayons to write the PM because that's the only thing he knows how to read. And, some of us even colour outside the lines just to piss people like you off. People that work at places like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

    Oh, please...BMD...so what do you have to say about North Korea's WEAPON TESTING missile launch today? I haven't heard any schizophrenic paranoid hyperventilating over that yet...hey, that's right...it's because they're simply implementing our Maurice Strong, U.N., Liberal Party, Power Corp. policy.. Seems like in the wizard of Oz when they pulled away the curtain there was a cute little dude sitting there behind the scenes at the controls of the "monster" (the "wiz"). SO when we do that to the North Korean escalating hostilities, will we find the same group behind the curtain as we found after the Americans removed Saddam Hussein from power? Power Corp, BNP Paribas, TOTAL, and the Desmarais, Chretien, Martin, Strong fingers on the controls? Just curious.

    The worst thing that the US has done for itself in electing GW Bush is that it has made itself just as threatening, just as deranged and just as cruel to its citizens as any of the other crack pots running the world. The US takes issue with all the money spent by Saddam and Kim John Il on weapons while their people starve or go without .....well... Did you really have to ask?

    Last I checked it appears as though America is feeding approximately *over 85%* of us good Canadians, and a disproportionately large percentage of the entire world in addition. And we are feeding who, where? And if so, how much? SO go bite that hand feeding us and the rest of the world, and help us all out okay, 4canada?
