The flyers, which show a young child sitting in front of an empty bowl, are being included in food hampers so clients can question why the richest province in the country still has people struggling to get by, executive director Marjorie Bencz said.
"There are over 54,000 people each month in Alberta using food banks, and there are issues related to income security and minimum wage that have direct impact for people living in poverty in Alberta," she said.
The number of people using food banks increased by 12 per cent last year.
