The Ministry of Home Land Propaganda reports that 200 evil Taliban have been killed! Rejoice Brothers! This is good news!
Based on what I've seen to date, a Fallujah style massacre involving Canadian troops is going on in Afghanistan. Word will eventually trickle out concering what is really going on with this 'major offensive', until then, you should take these reports with a heavy dose of skepticism and concern.
"Based on what I've seen to date, a Fallujah style massacre involving Canadian troops is going on in Afghanistan."
Wow! So you were there? You saw the Canadian F-18's dropping White phosporous rounds and DU ammunition spewing from our main battle tanks? You saw the Taliban waving their white flags being gunned down by Sgt. Canuck?
Or, you're just pulling factless propaganda out your butt again . . .
Lest We Forget.

I already explained to you why I am guessing that a Fallujah style massacre is going on in Afghanistan.

So that I don't have to repeat myself, here's our discussion:
<br><br>
<a href="http://www.vivelecanada.ca/article.php/20060829221814240">Why It's Not Working in Afghanistan</a>
<br><br>
The US government is running the show in Afghanistan, and they've already proven themselves more than capable and willing to engage in premeditated massacres. There is no reason to think that Canadian "auxiliary" troops will not engage in war crimes if ordered to do so. Good soldiers do not refuse orders however horrific they may be. We've seen this to be the case just recently with Israel attacking Lebanese civilians with cluster bombs, before that we saw what the Americans did to Fallujah, and during WWII where Canadians were heavily involved there are many documented atrocities, such as the fire bombing of Dresden (a purely civilian target). The list of war crimes commited by the "good guys" is very long.
<br><br>
In any case, we'll just have wait and see what the real story is. Eventually news will trickle out as it did with the Fallujah massacre.
"I already explained to you why I am guessing that a Fallujah style massacre is going on in Afghanistan."
I do remember our conversation, and the only thing that is similar between Falluja and Khandahar was the pre-warning the enemy was given.
See if you see the similaraties:
'You are with us, or with the terrorists'
'Al-Queda inspired plot'
'9/11 style attack'
'opposition to this is anti-American'
and
'Falluja Style Massacre'
Propaganda has it's own fingerprint. Especially propaganda for something that hasn't happened yet.
"There is no reason to think that Canadian "auxiliary" troops will not engage in war crimes if ordered to do so."
Yea. We produce mindless killing drones. (rolls eyes). I'm sure we've discussed that before too.
"Good soldiers do not refuse orders however horrific they may be."
I think you misspelled 'mindless killing drones' there too.
"We've seen this to be the case just recently with Israel attacking Lebanese civilians with cluster bombs, before that we saw what the Americans did to Fallujah,"
That has to do with five Canadian troops DYING in which way?
" and during WWII where Canadians were heavily involved there are many documented atrocities, such as the fire bombing of Dresden (a purely civilian target). The list of war crimes commited by the "good guys" is very long."
And the list is always before 1949, when the Geneva conventions were amended in direct response to Dresden. I'd really like someone to cite a war crime commited by Canadian troops since Dresden. Just one. (and Somalia was a single murder, as evidenced by the trial of Pte. Kyle Green).

There's a little more to it than that. The region under attack was deemed to be a "stronghold" full of civilians who it appears have been providing shelter for the 'enemy' - so was Fallujah. The warning given was for the civilians to evacuate their homes prior to the attack, the same warning was given to the residents of Fallujah. No reporters have been allowed in the area without direct military supervision - the same control over a media presence in Fallujah was documented. Our MSM is mostly ignoring the story, only reporting deaths of Canadian troops and not refering anymore to the specifics of the battle - the same thing happened with the Fallujah attack.

There's nothing wrong with my speculation - so long as I state that I'm speculating, which I think I have. You speculate and make assumptions all the time. For example, you appear to be assuming that the report in this thread is telling us the whole the truth, yet you have no supporting evidence to back up such an assumption other than MSM reports - yet it has been documented that the MSM lies on a regular basis.
All I can say, is that we'll see what happens. I'll bookmark our discussion should anything new materialize on the subject. For what it's worth, I do hope that I'm wrong.

<br><br>
Canada participated in the recent Balkan war where war crimes attributed to NATO bombing runs were documented. It is difficult to say how many innocent people were murdered as a result of Canadian bombing raids, however Canada cleary participated in the event.
<br><br>
You can read this letter to Bill Graham by UBC Prof Donald Fleming, which discusses the crimes Canada was involved in:
<a href="http://www.balkanpeace.org/lan/lan01.shtml">Kosovo and Canada's participation in NATO's war</a>
<br><br>
Whenever there's war, it is a certainty that all sides will engage in horrific crimes. There was Canadian involvement the Korean war, however I do not have much knowledge of what went on during that war, perhaps one of our readers has something to share?
But, did Canadian jets use any DU weapons? The only evidence that Canada ever had DU weapons in inventory, was on the HMCS Athabascan and HMCS Terra Nova, from 1991 to 1998. They were not involved in the Balkans.
'Bunker busters' etc. that utilize DU typically require sophisticated targeting systems, and our CF-18s don't get those kind of toys. Which is why we were sent on bombing runs and bomber escort on the Balkans.
For history on Korea, google Kap'Yong hill 677.
But what does this have to do with the DEATHS of 5 soldiers again?
Lest We Forget.

You are correct about the DU with respect to Canadian forces. With respect to the use of cluster bombs, it appears that Canada stopped using them after 1997, which indicates that Canada did not officially use cluster bombs during the Kosovo War.
<br><br>
Nevertheless, Canada was involved through its direct participation with NATO in the use of DU munitions during the Kosovo War. Canada knowingly participated with full knowledge that DU and cluster bombs were being used (an interesting question is if fuel air bombs were used as well?). Canada is directly involved with NATO in Afghanistan, therefore here we are again participating in war crimes since we know that NATO is using DU munitions, cluster bombs, and fuel air bombs, each of which cause indiscriminate and untargeted deaths.
<br><br>
Does it make any sense that on one hand Canada proclaims that it won't use DU munitions or cluster bombs, yet it will turn a blind eye and participate in wars knowing full well that the main players it chooses to ally with are using these banned weapon systems? What can I say other than Canada is a willing accomplice.

I was speculating that the 5 deaths were due to a Fallujah style attack going on in Afghanistan. You disagreed. You can follow through with the course our conversation took to see how we got to this point.
