The Hobbled Cornwall Public Inquiry

Posted on Tuesday, September 19 at 15:03 by cornwall
Years of public pressure finally forced the McGuinty government to call an inquiry into the sexual abuse scandal. The inquiry, commissioned April 2005, is viewed by many as the final chapter in the cover-up headed as it is by a judge whose family is rooted in Cornwall and guided by a paedophile-friendly mandate which deliberately evades the very issues which prompted calls for an inquiry in the first place, namely the allegations of a paedophile ring involving prominent men in the community (i.e., Roman Catholic bishops and clergy, teachers, lawyers, probation officers and police officers) and the allegations of a cover-up orchestrated by members of the ring and/or their friends who were/are well situated within and without the community to orchestrate a cover-up. A wealth of background information on the scandal which rocked Cornwall and on the inquiry itself has been posted on the http://www.theinquiry.ca - more information is being added almost daily. Accompanying and accessible via the website is "Sylvia's Site" (http://www.theinquiry.ca/wordpress) a blog wherein the inquiry website operator Sylvia MacEachern blogs the Cornwall inquiry, drawing attention to recently posted articles, media coverage and forgotten facts while injecting her thoughts on what is or is not happening at this thoroughly hobbled inquiry, and why.
