Wow.

Truth or propaghanda I'm not in a position to say, but either way this video message was an effective one. It raised my spirits toward the resistance and I'm not even at war. Extremely interesting view into the mindset of Iraqi "insurgents."

I noticed though, it mentioned "Zionist control." Osama bin Laden also brought up Zionist control in his letter to the U.S. a couple years ago. Hitler was fighting against "Zionist control," in his words. What is this all about? I had always thought that "Jewish (Jew in name only) bankers controlling the world behind the scenes" was just another conspiracy theory, but again and again resistence groups bring them up as the architects of many conflicts. Is there a legitimate concern there? I'm becoming convinced more and more that there is something hidden there, something big...

Don't let the conspiracists get to you. There are many theories about what a 'Zionist' is, the word has many connotations.

Basically, a Jewish Neocon is the normal usage of it. Someone who feels all Arabs are the enemy, and Isreal is the true home of Jews - but only when it is free of Arabs.

Jews think of Zionists much like Christians think of the KKK.

I watched this yesterday - a powerful piece of propoganda. As with all wars there is the war of the message. While the coalition of the willing has billions at its disposal to wage a propoganda war, the resistance movement in Iraq clearly does what it can with what is available.

Campy enough to look like Michael Moore directed the production, it does the Hollywood resistance movement proud.

Do you know what the word "propaganda" means? The term dates back to WWI. Saying it was powerful seems you believed what pretty clearly was a lie. Critical thinking -- a necessity in this era of strong messages and weak minds.

No, saying it was powerful means that he can see how it would affect other people. Anyone who is taken in by propaganda cannot recognise it as such, by definition. Let's play the dictionary game!
Control of information, ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause
OR another:
A way of presenting a belief that seeks to generate acceptance without regard to facts or the right of others to be heard. Propaganda often presents the same argument repeatedly, in the simplest terms and ignores all rebuttal or counter-argument.

Now Jerry, is it just me, or does that sound an awful lot like your posts?

---
Jesse
What was "the lie" you referred to?

So you thought that looked like a Hollywood set? Campy?
Why can't you recognize a straightforward message when you see it?

Well as I am some what of an expert on editing technique: This short was intentionally made to make you feel for the insurgents. From the B-roll, to the music, to the ambient sound, this thing was made to pull on the heart strings of the activist. You know what though? It works. Why?

The truths: America is promoting fear, they are stealing resources, the US soldiers there are fighting for an unjust cause, they are trampling on religious rights of Iraqis, the fact that they are winning the battles because they control when and where they happen, the fact that they are now fighting an occupying nation, and the fact that they know they US is not in it for them, the people of the middle east. So their argument is a vaild one.

    Although: Violence doesn't solve violence.

Although: When you are an Iraqi, and you stand there waving a white flag and still get shot, you can see where they are coming from.

And there is the fact that: The US does the exact same thing on this side of the world with their propaganda campaign. Except the major difference, their editors aren't nearly as good as the insurgent editors from the media platoon.

Jerry: thank you for rephrasing it so that it is not entirely flamebait.
