Iraqis Protest On Anniversary Of Saddam's Fall

Posted on Monday, April 11 at 13:16 by 4Canada
The square and side streets were quickly packed with crowds waving Iraqi flags and brandishing effigies of Saddam, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and President Bush. "No America! No Saddam! Yes to Islam!" many chanted. One group of demonstrators burned an American flag. http://www.commondreams.org/headlines05/0409-02.htm

Maybe the Iraqies need america, maybe they are too stupid to look after themselves.Didn`t Kissenger say something to that effect years ago?Oil is too important to be left to Arabs,or words to that effect.
    Does anybody know anything anymore?
    Does it even matter?

Yes, good idea. Call the civilization that had math, engineering, architecture, art, science, and medical research thousands of years before Europeans "too stupid" to run their own affairs.

    More neocon 'philosophy'.

Well, look at Iraq today.Occupied by a fascist state. What did all their science do for them?Zip.
Even the Vietnamese offered more resistance.
There is more going on over there than we know,or will ever know.Totally bizarre.

Canadians are asking, why do americans hate us? They hate our freedoms: our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, our freedom to disagree with each other.

Those protesters deserve to have Saddam in charge of their lives again - he'd learn them real good about how to protest, when and what to protest.

As for Iraqi civilization - it seemed rather meaningless under the dictates of Saddam. Building palaces for himself does not make him a 'civilized' Iraqi or do anything for Iraqi civilization for that matter.

The best commentary on Iraq under Saddam is no commentary at all - just look at how people 'voted'. There were and are now Iraqi communities in every major city of the world, thousands of Iraqis live right here in Canada - they voted with their feet - it's what people actually do that counts.

And what is the size of the Canadian-born ex-patriot community in Iraq? Just about zero, no Canadians were lining up to emigrate to Iraq. Because Canadians vote with their feet too.
