"We had thought that they had quit (hunting seals) for many years," said McLellan. "So we thought, well then, we're going to not give Canada our tourist dollars."
Senator Celine Hervieux-Payette penned a terse response to the McLellans, suggesting they should be more concerned about their own government's treatment of Iraqis.
She didn't limit her comments to the war, however, pointing out that the true crimes being committed in the world are "the daily massacre of innocent people in Iraq, the execution of prisoners -- mainly blacks -- in American prisons, the massive sale of handguns to Americans, the destabilization of the entire world by the American government's aggressive foreign policy, etc."

When you are up to your ass in alligators it is difficult to remember that the initial objective was to drain the swamp
and let us remember their are a lot of Americans/Canadians that do justice to their ideals.
lets not mix up the bad apples with the good.
That's money that puts food on their table, clothes on their backs, and roofs over their heads.
Unless these holier-than-thou hypocites want to reimburse the seal hunters the difference in income for not going on the hunt, they should shut the hell up and consider the fact that their urban life is a hell of a lot easier than a seal hunters.
Bloody idiots probably think Bambi is a real deer too.

Maybe when people start righting cheques to all sinners, to stop their evil deeds. Doing something for money don't make it right. Fish all the fish in the ocean or kill all the wolves in Northern Alberta don't make the world a better place to live in. Killing these seals weren't right to start with and I have no sympathy for those who chose this way of making money. I had to chose a different way of making a living at the age of 53, because of the softwood dispute. I am no smarter then those hunters and they are just as capable.

Expect little from life and get more from it.
eating granola is not in the picture for native hunters who eat and use these creatures for sustance in a harsh enviroment.
brigitte bardot is a pampered prima donna with way too much time on her hands and if she were a scrubwoman instead of an ex movie star the SYCHOPHANTS would be following whoever was the prettiest and talked the loudest.
these people have choice, the natives have little ,or NO CHOICE...they were shaped by their environment and what it has to offer...see any granola trees up there lately briggite?
They club the seals to save marring the pelts and sell the pelts at $?? a piece. We are talking big money not food.

and where are all the BIG BUCK FIGURES you talk about, either put up the figures or be known for the MORON you are.
one that cannot read or properly debate using the figures you scream about...c'mon...SHOW ME THE MONEY !
show me what a NATIVE makes in a yearly hunt and show me where their MILLION DOLLAR CONDOS ARE HIDDEN...
you talk, but nothing but a foul odour of HYPOCRISY fills the air.
another MINDLESS,SYCHOPHANTIC FOLLOWER...
Since when is keeping a roof over your family's head "evil"?
"Doing something for money don't make it right."
True, but if you had to choose between hunting and your family living without such luxuries as a roof overhead and food on the plate, what would YOU do?
Please, answer that.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

An ex-forest industry worker. Good. Then tell me how you can justify large scale clear cuts, soil erosion, destruction of habitat, selling raw logs overseas, and creating species monocultures in areas that once had many different species of trees while at the same time condemning others for harvesting seals?
They have to eat too, or are you truly that damn stupid?
"I am no smarter then those hunters and they are just as capable."
Wrong, they're smarter. They do what they have to in order to survive using the resources they have available.
You just sit back and bellyache because some cute baby seals die, all this without you offering any alternatives they can actually USE in order to better their situation and elimate any need for harvesting pelts.
You're the worst kind of hypocrite.
