You're Invited: Mel Hurtig At Milner Library

Posted on Wednesday, October 01 at 13:26 by sthompson
Mel Hurtig will be talking about writing, books, authors, editing, manuscripts, and other aspects of the world of books as part of the Edmonton Literary Festival at the Milner Public Library at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4 - for anyone who might be interested.

Note--admission is NOT free as previously posted:

Apologies but I mentioned that my session on Saturday at the Milner Library had no admision charge; however the Festival people tell me that this is not correct and it is $8/adult and $5/student. Sorry about this misunderstanding.

- Mel

I'll be there and if other Vive members or readers are in the area, perhaps we can meet up at the talk and potentially go out for coffee or something afterwards? If you're interested in doing this let me know at susan.thompson@vivelecanada.ca or comment on this article so we can work out the details. Maybe I'll have to wear the Vive logo or something so people can recognize me :)

For more information on the talk you can email Mel himself at: mhurtig@telusplanet.net

Note: susan.thompson@viveleca... mhurtig@telusplanet.net

Is that library anywhere near the airport?

If there was ever a time for Canadians to become pushy - now is the time - for time is running out on this nation called Canada.

Is anything in Edmonton close to the airport??? I\'ll double check and post it here, but I think it\'s the Stanley A. Milner library, address 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square. Map: http://www.publib.edmonton.ab.ca/EPLBranches.cfm

I am going to try to catch a flight out there so you may just see my and few others happy smiling faces.

Now... where is that link to Westjet seat sales?

That would be great. Westjet.com? And yes, the Stanley Milner library is correct. Mel says he has some time afterwards to meet as well.
