The Grave Of Jesus Found.

The boxes, which housed human bones and are known as ossuaries, are made out of Jerusalem limestone with its distinctive colour of clotted cream. The smaller of the two bears the inscription Jesus, son of Joseph, while the larger and more lavishly decorated is marked in the name of Mariamene e Mara. According to the Canadian documentary-maker, Simcha Jacobovici, the inscription translates as Mary Magdalene the Master. It is his contention that he and his team of advisers have conclusively found the tomb of Jesus and his family. "This is somewhat surreal," Mr Jacobovici said as the drapes were pulled back. "To think that maybe under that felt are the ossuaries of Jesus of Nazareth and Mary Magdalene which lay together side by side for 2,000 years." http://www.guardian.co.uk/religion/Story/0,,2022252,00.html

I think that the fact that it was found in 1980 yet we are only hearing about it now, and the fact that it has received no fanfare, all point to it's authenticity more than anything.

For naturally, nobody is keen to rock Christianity to it's knees.

But for me, the debate is over. Jesus, (you may debate ad nauseum if he was mortal or not) was born to Mary and Joseph with the ability to procreate (which again does not conclude his son need be 'godly'), married his love Mary, and had a son, Judah.

    Get Over It.

... it being a desperate distraction from some very embarrassing news, such as the *without question* failing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the internet based news story showing a BBC reporter telling her viewers that the WTC 7 building had just collapsed about 15-20 mins BEFORE it really did collapse (building can be clearly seen still standing in the background and then the live feed goes dead just before the real collapse which would have shown it happen live on TV).

You just CAN'T make this stuff up!!!!

No offense intended bud, but why do you always have to steer a conversation toward 9/11 ?

    From John 2:1-11 -

"And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there.
And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage.

His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye.

Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece.

Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it. "

Now, what kind of an ass is invited to a wedding, brings his mother and entourage, and orders the servants around?

That would be the role of 'The Groom'.

And considering your country is currently in the grip of a right-wing religious fundamentalist christian dictatorship, do you think they would SERIOUSLY put out a story that questions central tenets of the Christian faith?

No, I think the media jumping on the death of that bimbo was the distraction. This is the Real Deal.

No offense taken. Perhaps this one was a stretch, but just about everything in the news these days has one thing or another to do with the phony 9/11 attacks and all of it is bad news. Putting out a controversial story about Jesus is always a good distraction if you need one, and considering the importance of the news that's NOT being reported on, such as the 9/11 related story where the BBC somehow managed to tell the world that WTC 7 had collapsed BEFORE it collapsed, I have to speculate that there's a reason why we see useless stories making up most of the headlines.

I think you're right, the death of that crazy lady was excellent timing.
