But the Internet has changed all that in one crucial respect that wouldn't surprise Coase one bit. To an economist, the "trick" of the Internet is that it drives the cost of information down to virtually zero. So according to Coase's theory, smaller information-gathering costs mean smaller organizations. And that's why the Internet has made it easier for small folks, whether small companies or dark-horse candidates such as Howard Dean, to take on the big ones."

I\'m sorry to say this, but the best solution is to go out and vote, but if you don\'t have a good candidate in mind, then spoil your ballot.

At least that way, your vote means something. If you do not vote, your lack of voting simply means that you didn\'t care enough to show up. It does not appear in the statistics.

That is a very important distinction !!

If you show up at a polling station, you have a record. Then if you cast a ballot, it is counted.

If you do not show up, then you are recorded as a no-show. Your record shows that you did not vote.

The thing that matters is that you appear to be voting. The fact that your vote, if you choose to spoil it, counts in the total of the votes counted.

That is what makes the difference of showing up and being counted as one that has voted.

Thank you Susan. I did not have the misfortune to see those comments, but that kind of thing should not be tolerated.<p> <p>---<br>"History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme" Mark Twain

It is a shame that you choose to wear your restrictive blinders, as I thouhght that deleted post and its invaluable link was the most informative link of the day yesterday. You might recall, it was wall-to-wall all-Saddam all the time. That post and its link were a refreshing antidote to that toxic stew.
