Why Are U.S. Drug Cops In Vancouver?

Posted on Thursday, October 28 at 10:24 by mikeymike555

Strange but true: the American Secret Service in Vancouver is listed in the phonebook, but the Drug Enforcement Administration is not. This seems to be a measure of just how secretive the DEA is. They opened shop quietly in Vancouver last year, but the public has little idea of what they are doing—let alone that they are here—and the DEA would like to keep it that way.

Because that's where the drugs are?

I have to say I think the DEA being in your country is fucked up! I am an American from Western NY, which is basically on the Canadian boarder. I have how ever lived in your wonderful country and enjoyed many of your freedoms. When I was living in Whistler I have to say it was the happiest time in my life. I love my country but I hate how those in power try to force our bullshit laws on other countries. It appears to me that your country gets the brunt of this as of late. All I can say is I am sorry and hopefully some day this war will end! And to all of your breeders and growers keep up the good work, we all appreciate it. I can't wait to come back up there for my birthday and have some Mighty Might...

This is an outrage. Where are they? We should set up banners and posters and grafiti all over they're building explaining exactly who and what they are for all to see. I'm sure the States has many more secretive endevours in place as well, but we must at least completely expose the ones we know of.

War on drugs, war on terrorism...it's all the same...

    But on the bright side:

You get to hear all your favourite reporters from the States say "BC Bud" until they are blue in the face. Whoops "favorite" reportes from the States

What better advertising could the growers of BC ask for?

As for "Because that's where the drugs are?" Wake up! Drugs are everywhere. Some worse than others thanks to George Sr and CO. I'd rather have a bunch of hungry red eyed kids walking my streets than a bunch of RX pill poppers!

Stats on border seizures show that there's far more Mexican Red and Peruvian/Comumbian Cocaine coming from the south of the US than BC Bud coming in from the North.

From what I hear in the War on Terror(r)(tm) and the War on Drugs(r)(tm) the Terror and Drugs are winning.

I agree Doc, I think the reason the war on terror is a lost cause is because the very concept of fighting "terror" is flawed. terrorism is just that, it is the promotion of terror and fear and uncertainty...no one has to be there it's just the idea that some unknown is out there lurking, waiting to seize (or attack) you and your very "democratic" way of life. Personally I think the largest terror campaign ever launched is that against the American people, by the White House, the media, and the corporations that control them both. WATCH OUT, THE LEVEL IS YELLOW, BETTER GET OUT THERE AND SHOP WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME!!!!!!!!!!

As for the drugs, my belief is different strokes for different folks those who want to will find a way, and those who don't, don't...and I also think the reason drugs have such a criminal element associated with them is because they are illegal (not to say all drugs should be legalized) but I think emphasis should be placed on education and treatment instead of ignorance and imprisonment.

This is nothing new. Walters apparently appears in Canada for a little talk about once a year. Minimum. See, coming from such a space of freedom and democracy, Walters and the US admin. seem to think threats and coersion are what Canada needs. Its very important that we do not sully the pristine morals of American society.

Also, the pharmaceutical industry is huge, and consequently they donate large amounts of money to the Rethugs. Whose interest do you think they protect in the war on drugs? I'll take Pharmas for 50 Alec. Bush has proposed that all school aged children get tested for psyhcological 'problems'. Soon the nation of children will be on some form of 'legal' drug. We'll stay far away from the other, oh, slightly less minor issue of say........human rights. :

Why are the CIA or drug cops even allowed in Canada? You need to boot them on out.
