Cellucci's Replacement "Less Confrontational", More Ignorant

Posted on Friday, April 29 at 16:41 by sthompson
The guy is supposed to be "less confrontational" than Cellucci, which I admit would be nice if perhaps a little less honest. But you'd think actually knowing something about the country you're ambassador to would be an important part of the job, so you have to wonder whether this guy will just be completely incompetent. Although I guess knowledge about Canada and a desire to visit aren't really easy to come by in any part of the Bush government, anyway, US President included.

I heard him on As It Happens last night. I think "completely incompetent" is a pretty good characterization.

Well, isn't that the sort of person who is completely appropriate for the current state of Canadaian-USA relations?

Let's see. The Canadian dollar is swirling around the drain because the rest of the world sees it as another banana republic about to undergo yet another election that won't change a thing.

Why should the USA appoint someone of intelligence and capabilities to Venezuela North?

    Eh?

Or... perhaps that truly is the "best candidate", being that most americans aren't capable of pointing their own country out on a map. Quite frankly, almost anyone is a vast improvement over Celluci - so I'll take incompetent over loudmouth a*s anyday.

But hey, what do canadians know EHHHH???? - who's the most hated country, facing economic and political collapse due to ridiculous spending and the same "quality of leadership" that reflects this choice in ambassador? Oh yeah, the great "superpower" - Y'ALL...

I wonder how he'd compare, in clue-of-country, to our last one to Denmark !

You didn’t listen to the last one, why send another? While we are at it, thanks for that classless, charmless, tactless boob who wipes his mouth on his suit sleeve. Frankie boy is really going to improve things for Canada, if someone can teach him to chew with his mouth shut that is.

Even though we gave the old "cell(ucci)mate" a hard time, for feigning to do his job of representing American interests in Canada, he was more Canadian than American. He is from America's Ultra-Blue "finger", the Northeast. Boston in fact. Just like one of us. He's a wannabe one of us. His daughter married a good Canadien lad by the name of Craig Adams, who has been playing for the Carolina Hurricanes. And of course he jumped in bed with the Stronach family, and took on the Vice Presidency of Magna Entertainment. And we castigate him for being more CANADIAN than American???
Boy...I like the way my fellow countrymen think :)~
Hopefully they'll recall this guy (Wilkins was it?)who might be for actually doing his job and representing AMERICAN interests as the AMERICAN ambassador to Canada. We sure as he** don't need any of THAT crap going on! We really are better off if they send us another wannabe Canuck. :) Food for thought?

McKenna? Cheer up my American friend. He's just another Power Corp. of Canada / Carlyle Group / Briberal Party guy. He's there to help your Democrats ease their way back into the chips, and patch up the old French-Canadian business ties between the Desmarais/Chretien/Strong/Martin's and the Hyatt/Gore/Heinz-Kerry/Clinton's. He learned his manners from Chretien. That stuff he does is acceptable in their circles (in case you didn't know). Get with it. It's very avant garde to dislay your dinner upon your sleeve. It indicates that you think so highly of your food or drink that you wish to display it with pride for all to see. Ditto for chewing with your mouth open. Kind of like advertising for your host. Unless of course you're merely wiping away slobber, or dribble ;). You really need to learn your Canadian etiquette, history, and corporate connections. Geez! You damned yanks. Don't know anything! :)

Well now I really do feel like one of those bastards, had I only known he was trying to replicate a Jackson Pollock on his tie I wouldn’t have taken such a pompous attitude. Some artists use oil on canvas, some use potato on Brooks Brothers… ;-)

The Americans are figuring out the post-modern Canadian, that's why they are sending a 'less confrontational' person. Because Canadians aren't used to hearing straight talk or truth - we keep electing the Liberals, a bunch of liars and theives who spend millions of our dollars on their communications and advertising in order to produce feel good messages and imagery while they plunder the treasury. And we keep electing Liberals.

Canadians have been duped by the Liberals into believing that a big nanny state is the solution to every problem, they're more than happy to take your money and gain more power over your life at the same time. And Canadians are apparently dumb enough to believe that this is some sort of progress.

Real progress would be reflected in better living standards and higher incomes - something that won't happen in our little backwater with Liberal theives and liars in charge. But, one must concede that they make things sound nice, up until you happen to be dying from something that bureaucrats in health care have decided to ration - like health care. And you find out it is illegal to try and take care of yourself - you don't have that basic human right in Canada, that's for people in free countries.
