    Good question.

I think there is more to this then what the U.S. authorities are saying, like the U.S. government looking for a justification to interrogate American citizens.

    No kidding.

Why would anyone put RFID Chips in coins, which
exchange hands many times a day? What exactly would
you be tracking - how many times someone used the
coin to purchase a cup of coffee? How about the cost to
outfit these chips for something so absurd and without
    purpose?

If RFID Chips were planted for tracking purposes, it
would not be as obvious as a "glowing red thing in the
center" and would not be on an item that is constantly
changing hands. And these geniuses work for the U.S.
military? It's no wonder things in Iraq are going so well.

    Indeed.

I have to reply to this thread; if for no other reason than my grandchildrens children will know that the 'Ole Curmundgeon, fell off his chair laughing upon hearing about this insainly narcissistic & paranoid American dillusion.

And yes, if it was not such a sad statement about the American condition, it would belong in the humor section.
