Liberal Attacks A New Low

Posted on Wednesday, June 09 at 09:00 by sthompson
This week'Team Martin' reverted to the fear mongering and U.S. style attacks against Stephen Harper showcased in their pre-election television ads. More of the same was seen on Tuesday when two Liberal cabinet ministers Judy Sgro and John McCallum tried to harass Mr. Harper during two elections stops in the Greater Toronto Area, apparently working under the orders of Martin's campaign team. On Friday Liberal Quebec lieutenant and co-founder of the Bloc Jean Lapierre went on the offensive in Quebec, fear mongering about the Tories rather than promoting the newly-released Liberal platform. It seems to me that Paul Martins Liberals, who until this week were arrogantly laying claim to a majority government, have no one to blame but themselves for the sinking Liberal ship. Well, at least give me a try..... :)

Do you know why so many people are nervous about Harper and his Alliance clan masquerading as conservatives and worse, Tories?

Its because He and his pro-war, chicken-hawk, socially regressive, neo-conservative supporters get people freaked out of their minds when they realise that if Harper had been in power a year ago, we would be stuck in that meat-grinder of US imperial conquest ordained by God (according to bush).

WE KNOW WHO HARPER IS AND HIS ISN'T A TORY!

    Cheers.

Harper has been making his views known for twenty years now, what more do some people want? Obviously they want him to change his views, but why should he? His platform is actually less radical than the Liberal platform. There is no evidence of any 'hidden agenda'. If any Prime Minister were elected and tried to implement some kind of hidden agenda that was un-democratic or not following the will of the people of Canada, the institutions of this country such as the Courts, Provincial & Municipal governments, Civil Service, Media, Professional & Trade organizations etc. etc. would balk at implementing any such agenda - Canada wasn't born yesterday and even Prime Ministers don't have absolute power in this country, much to the chagrin of the Jean Chretien type of PM.

    They are both dangerous.

Sorry, I don't think anybody is picking on Harper because he won't change his opinions.

People hold him (and the Alliance Party) in contempt because they managed to CON most Tories into destroying Canada's true and historic Conservative Party.

One just needs to look at Harper's record (and that of the Alliance/Reformers)to realise he is no Tory and by calling himself such, bastardizes the legacy of John A. MacDonalds founding party and results in accelerating death of the concept of Red Toryism in Canada.

That`s right. They are both dangerous!!!

Just think about the back room, with mulroney patting harper on the back with a bunch of "attaboys" and harris clapping from another table.

This is the party of cowards. Mulroney (the only reason I capitalized his name this time is because it began a sentence - grammar rules !) quit toward the end of his second term because he could hear us breathing down his neck. (FTA, NAFTA, deficits galore !!)

Same with harris, he quit and left Eves holding the bag.

If I want to vote for a party, it won't be a party of quitters !!

I meant to add that Martin is looking more desperate every day, and I don't care what ads he puts out, his message is dying on the vine.

It seems he only has support in Atlantic Canada, but the NDP are making a little noise down there too.

Too many broken promises over the years.

If the Libs and Cons aren't up to it, give the NDP a chance. They have a good platform, backed by economists.

You must be happy that Harper is an economist then, c'est bien oui?

He's obviously not a good one, his brothers are all accountants, and if he really knew anything about economics he would know how to use the Bank of Canada properly to fund the government with money at less that 1% interest, like our country used to do.

That was when we had politicians with guts. Now they all belong to corporations.
