Mass Surveillance For Dummies - Part 4

Posted on Monday, April 03 at 09:00 by 4Canada
The power of present-day programs of mass surveillance is truly futuristic, beyond comprehension and beyond oversight and control. But even this does not properly portray their danger to the "American way of life". Their true power and danger comes in examining the programs in connection with the resumes of those who have been empowered by the Bush Administration to guide, control (and of course expand) these programs. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article12596.htm [Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on April 3, 2006]

the article speaks of exactly the type of subterfuge the military at some point will be called in to act on in the governments stead and it is the soldier mentality to follow the orders of government handed down.

Will the army guys even begin to question or protect the “civies” from such criminal action taken under the guise of fighting “terrorist”?

You should look up the difference between 'army' and 'police'.

One of those jobs' definitions is to protect 'civvies'. The other, is not.

Actually Dr Caleb, the function of the police is to enforce the laws of the state.

There is nothing that says that those laws, or the state that is enforcing them, need to be just.

Right. So Dio's "Will the army guys even begin to question or protect the civies; from such criminal action . . ." is moot.

The Army (Armed Forces) is not chartered to enforce the laws of the state inside Canada's borders, with certain exceptions. He was trolling again for a response from Armyguy or Sgt. ShockandAwe.
