A Spoonful Of Diplomatic Sugar

For a more workmanlike Agriculture Minister Chuck Strahl, it was merely a "pleasure" to have met with Mike Johanns, his American colleague. But he said it twice.

Yes, it's "getting to know you" season for newly minted Conservative cabinet ministers who have bloomed on the streets of Washington like so many capital cherry blossoms.

When Finance Minister Jim Flaherty sat down yesterday with U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow, it was the fourth time a U.S. secretary met a new Canadian minister in eight days.

Are they bonding? Is there a natural Republican-Conservative affinity? Should we care?

"Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay spoke of a mysterious "chemistry'' with Condoleezza Rice"

Next thing he'll be doing is calling her twenty times a day, professing eternal love, and then going psycho when she changes her phone number.

Who'd have guessed that McKay would be a stalker?

And the sucking up becomes even MORE pathetic! You know, this reminds me of many of the people at work, kissing the supervisor`s asses, ratting out their co-workers, thinking that such dishonourable conduct will get them a promotion! Unfortunately, some of these soulless weasels get a reward, but most of them, merely get used up and thrown away! When will losers like MacKay, Harper, and Day (just to name a few) realize that playing nicey-nice with the US isn`t going to do anything for Canada? But then again, it just might benefit them personally.

Why does Canada suddenly feel like it must have in the 30's in Austria?

If there was ever a time for Canadians to become pushy - now is the time - for time is running out on this nation called Canada.

You know the minute Condi tells him what she thinks of him, he'll be on the front page of every newspaper from coast to coast telling the wold about his broken heart, like when his girlfriend crossed the floor. You know if these guys could see what they look like, they want to puke too. These assholes are so so easy to see through that it's absurd! What the hell happened to honest politicians. gag gag gag oooops
