U.S. Government Votes To Delay The Implementation Of WHTI Till 2009

Posted on Sunday, June 17 at 12:08 by jensonj
Over the past two years, the OCC has actively engaged with business and government officials on both sides of the border to address concerns raised from the WHTI. The WHTI is anticipated to impact economies in both nations, particularly in the Great Lakes region as it can accurately be described as a single economic region. The OCC is also pleased that the bill includes language authored by Rep. Slaughter to withhold $100 million from the funds required by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to implement WHTI until DHS has determined if driver's licenses can be enhanced to meet the WHTI's requirements. http://www.newswire.ca:80/en/releases/archive/June2007/15/c5543.html [Proofreader's note: this article was edited for spelling and typos on June 18, 2007]
