Reptiles In Pakistan

The author has been studying reptiles and amphibians in Pakistan for decades and says that in 1964 he had reports of 243 animals in his area. In 1998 this had dropped to 44. Particularly disturbing, in addition to the radical loss of populations, is the gruesome treatment that people deal out to these poor creatures. Anyway, I guess this shouldn't surprise us too much. It's just hard to comprehend the magnitude of this biological depletion that seems to be going on everywhere I turn. - [friend]
