Vive le Canada Board Meeting January 16, 2005 15:00 Via IRC 1) Call to Order. Present: Jvanherk, Sthompson, Catherine Costen, Dr. Caleb Absent: Bob Price, Milton. 2) Old business: A) Susan announced the winner for the caption contest and sent emails to all runners up and the winner. It was "Please don't liberate me" Mel has been told of the winner, and he will send the signed/dedicated book out ASAP. T-shirts for the runners up will be sent within 1-2 business days. Extras will be kept for future contests etc as suggested, some to be given out to our regular columnists. It appears someone tried to rig the voting, casting 33 votes for the same caption all witin a minute of each other. Those votes were spoiled. Suggestions for further polls will be accepted in the "Site Suggestions" forumn topic. B) Incorporation progress has not changed. 3) New Business A) Catherine has keeping in touch with the new proofer, and an old volunteer, Saveena Patara. Robert Fischer was the promotions guy and he has left actively participating in the site. B) Progress is being made on Global Moderation. It is currently in Beta, with only a few users )Board Members, moderators) able to use it. Changes to user profiles allow users to sort based on moderation, but they cannot see the moderation. C) Keeping any story that is not high priority soverengty issue for stories will become standard practice in the future, as most readers prefer it. D) It was suggested that with spring approaching, T-Shirts could be sold as a fundraiser. E) Daily statistics of the website can be found at http://www.vivelecanada.ca/webalizer/.
