Chretien Ducking Questions

Posted on Monday, February 16 at 14:19 by whelan costen
Last week, Auditor General Sheila Fraser released a damning report into the program Chrétien's government instituted to raise Ottawa's profile in Quebec.

Fraser's report showed that $100 million had been misspent on the program....

(and then there is this telling statement from the article....)

"I don't think anymore," he said. "I was the government, I replied to all your questions- a lot of them. Now if you have questions ask the government."

I really thought the statement, \'I was the government\' took the cake! That kind of tells you the mindset, he was not the government, we are and as long as we have a democracy we will be the government. Maybe he also thought it was his money, so if a few million were lost or stolen what the heck...apparently it didn\'t bother him when \'he was the government\' but it bugs the shiiiit out of me!!!

Also on this issue, I wonder about the \'I\'m Mad as Hell\' statement by Martin, he\'s trying to take the wind out of our sails, you can\'t be mad cause I am madder! Well actually, I am not mad, I am angry, he may be mad, we have had such examples in the past, remember McKenzie King, now we are told he was mad...also why doesn\'t some interviewer ask him when he says, \'I\'m mad as Hell\' WHY???? I\'d really like to hear that answer...we assume he\'s mad because of the corruption but is that the reason...never asssume!
