Top Canadian sovereignty stories of 2004?

Basically I'm looking for suggestions about which stories should make it into a 2004 "year in review" featured article here on Vive. I'd like to list 10 stories, with a focus on the top stories related to Canadian sovereignty, democracy, deep integration, and imperialism--ie the top stories related to the site mission.
