Forum Moderators Wanted!

Posted on Thursday, March 11 at 14:49 by sthompson
All moderators need to have a user account, and must be willing to check the forums frequently and/or regularly. This is a great way for site regulars to get more involved.

Moderators should agree to abide by our policy of non-discrimination and should generally support the goals and ideals of the site.

For their trouble, I will list all moderators in our "about" pages as volunteers, and moderators will be first in line to get any future goodies (stuff, invites, and my personal good graces :) ) And of course there's the personal satisfaction of helping to save Canada.

If you're interested in becoming a forum moderator, please email susan.thompson@vivelecanada.ca. Please include a few lines on why you want to become a moderator, what topic you'd prefer to moderate plus what experience or expertise you might have in that area if any, and your Vive username.

Thanks for your help!

- Susan

    Susan,

I'm interested, as long as there is a way that all moderators can communicate all together. Also set rules would be important, so there is no confusion as to what is or what acceptable.

That was fast--we have four new moderators, Dr Caleb, Poz, Kory, and Kevin Gagnon. They're all signed up, signed in and keeping an eye on the forums.

So I don't think we'll be needing any more moderators for now. Thanks everyone!

You have a fine panel of moderators!

This is a little late, but I think instead of deleting posts that are inflamatory, they should be moved to a different area, perhaps not on the main page, but still available for everyone to see.

Moderators need to be accountable too.

I don't quite get that comment, if the post is inflamatory it is usually hate oriented, or racist etc. Why would we want an area that features that type of comment? Sounds like a place that would encourage more crap...just asking?
