Ten Good Reasons To Go Vote

Posted on Monday, June 28 at 14:54 by Jesse
#1: We have no music or movie stars as candidates in this election. This is due to the fact that most of our major celebrities do not live in Canada. However, this means that although Leslie Nielsen may never become prime minister, he could become the President. Don't get mad, get even.

Technically Leslie Nielson can't become US president either, but it's still an entertaining list of reasons! -JvH

Low voter turnout is just an indication of how good we have it in Canada, a cause for celebration actually.

Usually it means things are 'good enough', not that they are actually good. For another group, it means that they don't feel that their opinions are well represented by voting, so they don't bother.

THE voter turnout rate is a crock. Many people have either died, moved, or are ineligable and Elections Canada is very very slow updating their lists.

Now the Liberal-NDP coalition may need just one vote to form majority. They can ask the support of the independent conservative MP or the Bloc.

That independent guy is going to have his phone ringing off the hook for the next few months I think....

Things could still change slightly in the next week or so. None of the advance poll ballots have been counted yet; they don't get counted for another few days or so. (no tsure why they do that)

Say what the advanced polls were not counted last night? That is ridiculous because I heard a lot of people voted in advance, that could change everything!

Well I don't think they'll make a real significant difference. Maybe a small difference here & there.
