I am happy to assist you, as my constituent, on specific issues of concern or in areas of federal need. Therefore, should you require assistance of a federal nature, please do not hesitate to write to me again. Should you wish to write again to request information from me or my office for the Canadian Action Party, I greatly appreciate receiving it as it provides invaluable information and great details as to the direction of your party, but I will not be replying to those emails.
Sincerely,
Ted Menzies, MP
Macleod
My Response:
June 28, 2006
Dear Mr. Menzies
Thank you for your response. It is indicative of the current mindset in Ottawa. You may respond to me directly as one of your constituents, if you feel more comfortable in that role. It would seem however that you have downplayed your role significantly.
The new government website states, your role as, ‘Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Cooperation’ starting 2006/02/07. Definition of this Ministry {( Wikipedia) Minister for International Cooperation is responsible for overseeing Canadian international development strategy within the federal government's foreign department, Foreign Affairs Canada. This includes responsibility for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). } Canadians would expect that ‘International Cooperation’ would indicate some involvement with United States and Mexico, does that cooperation involve the endorsement of the North American Union of these three countries under American control? I would think you should be capable of answering that question.
Further I note you are a member of International Trade Committee since 2006/04/26; Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development since 2006/05/10 as well as sitting as an associate member on no less than 25 committees. All of these roles, puts you in a very real position of accountability to the people of Canada, as these roles are not exclusive to Macleod Riding.
It is interesting that you are responding to me today while the press is reporting that “- The Conservative party may have illegally accepted millions in unreported donations last year because it didn't understand political financing laws.” Link Will it also be you and your party’s claim that you didn’t understand my question, or your role or the plan for a North American Union and the Security and Prosperity Partnership? We are not asking if your party endorses it, we are asking if you endorse it. An article in U.S. Embassy quotes your U.S. connection on trade extensively. Apparently your connections and involvement are well known. You’ll forgive me for not accepting your lack of knowledge on this issue.
‘"I know three former U.S. secretaries of agriculture and two former U.S. trade representatives -- and met with most of them at the WTO Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong last December," Mr. Menzies boasts. Former president Ronald Reagan's trade rep, Clayton Yeutter, is an "old friend" of Mr. Menzies' -- as is J.B. Penn, the undersecretary for farm and foreign agricultural services in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Canadian MP says he has also become acquainted with American lawmakers, particularly during a trip he and some of his fellow parliamentarians made to Washington, D.C. last April.” (Link) Boasting of your friendship with the man who’s notorious for his role on behalf of the U.S. in the first Free Trade and who’s prophetic quote is now a reality indicates your connections are indeed well placed; ‘Canadians don't understand what they've signed. In twenty years, they will be sucked into the U.S. economy." Clayton Yeutter, U.S. trade representative.”
Canadian Action Party has no desire to ‘play’ any games, politics or otherwise, while Canada’s future hangs in peril. During the election campaign you ignored this issue, perhaps because it was a Liberal plan, however you are now in a position to reveal this plan and take a stand against it. We wrote to every member of Parliament and every Senator, in their capacity as public servants to the people of Canada. It serves no purpose to skirt the issue by advising us that you do not have to respond to another political party.
Canadian Action Party is a legally registered federal political party and as such is part of the unofficial opposition. We have a duty to represent Canadian interests and to speak on behalf of the Canadian people. Our authority comes from the same source as does yours, although our influence comes from the people of Canada, without any influence from corporate multi-nationals. All of these trade deals, which threaten our sovereignty have been designed by the leaders of business, bureaucrats in the best interest of their profit margins with little regard for the people or environment of any country. Why is the future of our nation being decided by unelected and unaccountable individuals, rather than the people of this nation, through our elected officials?
Your attempts to downplay the significance of our correspondence by stating, ‘I greatly appreciate receiving it as it provides invaluable information and great details as to the direction of your party’ is simply an indication of the immaturity of a party feeling threatened by another political party. Exhibiting your new found ‘power’ over the people of Canada through evading legitimate questions reinforces the urgency of the matter. Canadian Action Party states our platform clearly and concisely, we stand for a free, sovereign, peace-seeking Canada. You are welcome to gain insight to our mission, vision and platform as it is all very clearly set out on our website. You are also welcome to adopt any of our policies as they are in the best interest of Canadians. I would direct you in particular to our plan to remove the over $500 billion yoke of debt from the backs of Canadians. So let us not dwell on the opportunities I have provided for you.
Our questions are very serious and require full accountability and transparent disclosure. (This, in keeping with the Conservatives election campaign promises. The Liberals did not make such a declaration but they did state they would get to the bottom of things.) That is what we are asking for, regardless of which party colours you wear. The letter and questions are not directed at your ‘Conservative party headquarters’, they are directed to each Member of Parliament and each Senator. The questions stand. What role have you played in the dismantling of Canada? Did you participate, either personally or as part of a collective mind, in the plan to create a North American Union, without the consent of the Canadian people? Or if you do not endorse this plan, what have you done to ‘stand for Canada’ and prevent this unholy three-some from taking place?
May I remind you that you are paid to represent the people of Canada and the people of Macleod Riding within Canada. Your many roles as listed as well as your attendance at the WTO, clearly contradict your claim to only answer to Macleod Riding issues. As a sitting MP during the last election campaign you refused to discuss this issue, in fact I recall you using the words, ‘fearmongering’ when I brought the issue to the public. Stating the truth is not fearmongering! You owe us an explanation rather than word games. The people of Canada deserve answers from our elected/appointed officials regardless of who is asking the question. If you prefer to have constituents from each riding in Canada write to you regarding the destruction of our nation without their knowledge or consent, we will suggest Canadians do so. As previously mentioned all responses will be posted to our website and Canadians can decide for themselves how they wish to proceed. I look forward to your response.
Yours truly

He's likely not "authorized" to speak for himself remember?
Menzies says: "Should you wish to write again to request information from me or my office for the Canadian Action Party, I greatly appreciate receiving it as it provides invaluable information and great details as to the direction of your party, but I will not be replying to those emails."
What does he think he can do with the "invaluable" information you have provided about CAP? Come up with a smear and fear campaign against you?
MacLeod constituents really have no idea of how inferior their rep is next to you Catherine. Keep on his case until he "gets" it.
