An Alarm based on 2 verifiable events
The announcement of this crisis results from the analysis of decisions taken by the two key-actors of the main on-going international crisis, i.e. the United States and Iran:
- on the one hand there is the Iranian decision of opening the first oil bourse priced in Euros on March 20th, 2006 in Teheran, available to all oil producers of the region ;
- on the other hand, there is the decision of the American Federal Reserve to stop publishing M3 figures (the most reliable indicator on the amount of dollars circulating in the world) from March 23, 2006 onward[1].
These two decisions constitute altogether the indicators, the causes and the consequences of the historical transition in progress between the order created after World War II and the new international equilibrium in gestation since the collapse of the USSR. Their magnitude as much as their simultaneity will catalyse all the tensions, weaknesses and imbalances accumulated since more than a decade throughout the international system.
A world crisis declined in 7 sector-based crises
LEAP/E2020's researchers and analysts thus identified 7 convergent crises that the American and Iranian decisions coming into effect during the last week of March 2006, will catalyse and turn into a total crisis, affecting the whole planet in the political, economic and financial fields, as well as in the military field most probably too:
1. Crisis of confidence in the Dollar
2. Crisis of US financial imbalances
3. Oil crisis
4. Crisis of the American leadership
5. Crisis of the Arabo-Muslim world
6. Global governance crisis
7. European governance crisis
The entire process of anticipation of this crisis is described in detail in coming issues of LEAP/E2020’s confidential letter – the GlobalEurope Anticipation Bulletin, and in particular in the 2nd issue to be released on February 16, 2006. These coming issues will present the detailed analysis of each of the 7 crises, together with a large set of recommendations intended for various categories of players (governments and companies, namely), as well as with a number of operational and strategic advices for the European Union.

"George Bush has declared the war on terrorism to be the cause of his generation. The cause of Canadian sovereignty will be ours." - John Godfrey, MP for Don Va
This said, while China did lead the world culturally and scientifically at one time, European civilization when healthy has far exceeded Chinese civilization in both scientific achievement and cultural greatness in all forms. The gluttonous consumer culture we know in the west is fairly recent. We are capable of much better.

Also from the blood and toil of their own homegrown serfs, who lived and were used and driven like animals to create wonders, and die in battles between the nobility, while starving and clothed in rags.
Wealth can not be created, only taken and the nobilities of all continents and races have figured it out thouands of years ago how to fool people to accept their "status".
Ed Deak, (European born, my ancestors have at one time owned several villages, including one, with all the people, Alsodraskocz, now in Slovakia)
People were also more group-minded, and Christianity did help get people through difficult times. It was Pre-Enlightenment, and there was much less wealth to begin with. Most people would not have become wealthy had those wonders not been created....that said, we now have a more democratic society at least on paper but I still don't think it means we should not aspire to do great things simply out of pity for the underpriveleged. Not to suggest we shouldn't help people.
Also, you seem to blame Christianity for a lot. Greed and ego power and competition have nothing to do with Christianity.
Aside from providing less service, how is paying tax to a King any different than paying taxes to our Canadian government? Royal families did a lot to stabilize society in eras where there was much less information even available to most people. We now have things demystified but this is very new.
Also, while I acknowledge that European wonders were financed by plunders in many cases, they also required the talents of artistic geniuses who have given European civilization an awful lot. It is the art and the artist that I care about, not how the art was financed. Other civilizations were even more brutal without the greatness in most cases.

No.
Will the moon fall from the sky?
No.
Will all the volcanoes on Earth suddenly erupt at the same moment?
No.
The plans of men are at best vain plottings that seldom survive the first contact with reality.
Will a crisis erupt at the time specified?
I don't know, and so long as no nukes fly, I cannot truly say I care right now.
Some things will happen, others will not; either way, I refuse to allow my life to be dictated to by vague fears of crisis' which may never happen.
People are being set up so that they are living in a near constant state of panic. Terrorism, bird flu, mad cow disease, you name it some wag is trying to make you afraid of it.
As long as there is a struggle for power and supremacy, there will be crisis. What the hell is wrong with man!?!
Can we not see that we all need to live on this mud ball together? We have lost our entire focus. We have let our focus be turned by those with wealth. It is aworld of have/have not. Those that have, want more. Those that have not are fast losing the urge to do anything about it.
It is a world where the elite rules, yet, like in times gone by,the serf does the fighting and dying, while the nobles and royalty look on. Nothing has changed, just the way war is fought.
Same power struggle, same treasure hunt. Except the 'toys' are much bigger and more deadly than ever. The excuses haven't changed. That country pissed mine off, blah, blah. That country dosen't live right, blah, blah.
What the hell right do i have to say that you can't worship or live the way you do? Am I that embarrassed about the way i live, that i have to lash out and attack to cover my own debauchery? It certainly becomes a convienient excuse when it needs to be.
The world is in crisis,I certainly agree, but, it was in crisis long before Jeb Bush, jumped into bed with the war whore and attacked Iraq. It was in crisis long before 9/11.
It was in crisis long before WW1and WW2. Its been in crisis since man began walking on two feet or when Eve got screwed over by the serpent, which ever way you want to believe, the world is in crisis and always will be a long as there is something to squabble over.

This is controversial. Most people are in denial over indisputable evidence. It takes two to make peace, they forget. It only takes one to make war.
We have lots of time to sort this out. They cannot win now or in the foreseeable future. We can cost ourselves lives but that’s about the worst that our failures will cost us.
We are well aware of what joining the battle means. We are not warlike and we have a practical side to us that discourages us from warring with each other. That’s the way it has been for two hundred years since we obtained some political power from our old masters. One of the things we must determine now is the price of not doing anything. Is there a cancer which we have to rid ourselves of or we grow sicker, maybe even die? What about an enemy who will not stop until you or he is dead? Is the urge to negotiate with that kind of enemy akin to a death wish?
The article had most of the stock scare tactics except for global warning, alien abductions, and the Bush / bin Laden / Saudi trifecta. There’s a lot of smoke but there’s no flame. The ordinary workers in China or India would be shocked to learn how bad things are.

PR prayer...there's nothing else like it! I have to say, that made me laugh.

Beginning in the 11th century, the people of western Europe launched a series of armed expeditions, or Crusades, to the East and Constantinople. The reason for the Crusades is relatively clear: the West wanted to free the Holy Lands from Islamic influence. The first of early Crusades were part of a religious revivalism. The initiative was taken by popes and supported by religious enthusiasm and therefore the Crusades demonstrated papal leadership as well as popular religious beliefs. They were also an indication of the growing self-awareness and self-confidence of Europe in general.
---
to realise our knowledge is ignorance is a noble thought.
Given that there have been precisely zero attacks against the west since then, yet there have been many attacks by the west on muslim countries (read: Gulf War, Invasion of Iraq, imminent strike on Iran), I'm wondering how precisely you caracterize that they have been on the offence since then. I'd like to see your indisputable evidence.
You're right on one point, though. It does only take one side to make war. We (the west) seem to be the aggressors in such.
