The caucus will focus specifically on border security, commerce, energy cooperation and tourism issues, according to an invitation letter sent to prospective members. It is co-chaired by Republican Congressmen Henry Brown from South Carolina and Don Manzullo from Illinois. U.S. ambassador to Canada David Wilkins welcomes the formation of the caucus as a positive step in U.S-Canada relations. "I think anytime that we in the United States can raise the awareness of the importance of Canada and the wonderful trade relationship we have, is a positive step," he said in an interview with Embassy. "As you raise the awareness level, you raise the appreciation level of the relationship and friendship that the two countries enjoy." http://www.embassymag.ca/html/index.php?display=story&full_path=/2006/march/22/faceoff/
